Aerin
Two nights later found me at The Queen of Light Club, which was located in the warehouse district a few miles off base. It was your typical warehouse, open with a brick façade. It also didn't exist; the club actually existed on another dimensional plane. That way unsuspecting humans with no knowledge of the supernatural couldn't stumble upon it.
Humans who knew about the supernatural could enter the club if they had a third eye tattoo, accompanied by a supernatural creature, and were chipped for future trips to the club.
The club's magical charms recognize any supernatural creature that steps through the glamour on the outside of the building. Once inside the glamour, they encounter a bouncer who chips the humans and verifies the supernatural creatures before allowing them through the double doors into the actual nightclub.
Yeah, so upon finding out this information once Wicked and I had parked in the parking lot, I realized this trip was about to become the epitome of the proverbial catch twenty-two. The charms would recognize me as a paranormal, but the bouncer would register me as human. I would have to be chipped to maintain cover, but it was essentially a waste of a perfectly good chip because I could come and go from the club as I wished without it.
Damn coming here with friends.
"Aerin! Hi!"
I turned around to find Melissa waving at me like a lunatic from a few cars down. She had a huge grin on her face as she motioned for me to come over.
As I made my way over to her car, I appraised her. She had her mousy brown hair pulled back into a stylish bun and had apparently left the black rimmed glasses at home, opting for contacts that really made her doe eyes shine. She had gone for the minimal makeup look, which added to her beauty. She was wearing a mauve Aztec lace dress with sleeves that hugged her elbows over a pair of black leggings. The belt cinched around her waist matched her brown-heeled ankle boots, and a lightweight brown leather jacket completed the look.
She looked smoking hot.
"Hey! Ready to let loose and have some fun?" I asked as Wicked and I approached her.
"Absolutely!" She hugged me, waving shyly at Wicked. "Happy belated birthday!"
"Party time is the best!" David exclaimed, stuffing his phone into his back pocket as he stepped from Melissa's shiny red car.
My jaw dropped as I looked him over. Standing in closer proximity to him, he was a good six inches taller than me with a muscular build. His short red hair was spiked on top and he had a pair of simple black rimmed glasses covering those piercing blue eyes of his. He was sporting a simple black thermal tee over a pair of tan cargo pants.
David Jalisa cleaned up better than Wicked if that was possible.
"Damn, Jalisa, you're hot when you want to be," Wicked catcalled, slapping David on the shoulder. "For a jock, you can surprisingly pull off the hot nerd look."
David laughed, fist bumping Wicked. "There are many sides to me, Wickham."
"I'm beginning to see that, man. You ready to go find yourself a sexy man to toy with?" Wicked inquired as we headed towards the club.
"I'm kind of on hiatus from men after Paul," David replied, stuffing his hands into his pockets.
"That was six months ago!" Melissa admonished, fiddling with the gold cross around her neck.
