Chapter 10) Lies?

Kendall's pov:

"WHAT?!!!" Maddie screamed.

"Well, we ran into each other at Times Square after the incident and he offered to get me a hotel room and it just happened!"

"Oh god! What's Chloe gonna think about this?"

"Her and Josh broke up so it's not like I'm stealing him from her. Plus, she isn't gonna find out." I replied confidently.

"I know all about what happened with them, Chloe told me, but how are you going to keep this from her? She will have to find out eventually."

Of course she already knew. Chloe told Maddie everything. How come Chloe never told me about this stuff? Did she not like me?

"Yes I realize, but for now I'm keeping it a secret. I'm actually really happy. So please Maddie, don't ruin this for me." I begged.

Truthfully I really like Josh and I don't want anything getting in the way of my first relationship where the guy likes me for me, not my best friend.

"Ok fine," She scowled "but if Chloe finds out. I had nothing to do with this."

"Yes!! Thank you so much Maddie!" I hugged her.

She gave me an unapproving look and walked to her room. Probably to make out with Gino some more.

Josh's pov:

I woke up that morning in the hotel bed. Alone.

God, I really need a place to stay.

I heard my phone ring, picked it up and saw kendall was calling me. I smiled, happy to hear from her, and answered.

"Hey Kendall, did you ask Maddie about me staying at your apartment for awhile?"

"Yeah about that....." Her voice faded.

"Kendall, really?! I thought you said you would ask her."

"I'm sorry! She was just so upset about the whole me and you dating thing and I couldn't find it in me to tell her. I'm really sorry."

"Ok fine. I forgive you, but please tell her by tomorrow so I don't have to stay here another night."

"Ok I can do that, but I better go. I promised mackenzie I would go shopping with her."

"Wait!" I screamed. "Before you go, I was wondering if maybe tonight you wanted to go to diner with me." I asked nervously.

"Sounds great." I could almost see her adorable blushing cheeks in my mind. "How bout we go to Tony's at like 8:00. it's this really good Italian restaurant I saw last night."

"K bye." I said.

"Yeah bye I guess." She seemed taken back by my sudden response.

I hung up abruptly. I guess I kinda forgot how to end a conversation with a girl without "I love you." I was so used to saying it to Chloe, I mean, we were dating since freshman year of highschool. It was awkward but nice. After all, a change seems like what I need.

Kendall's pov:

Since I was going on my date with Josh right after shopping with kenzie, I thought I might as well do my hair an makeup for the date and change into some new clothes I buy at the mall.

I curled my hair into loose beach waves and tied it into a high ponytail. I put on some eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara, and some blush. I decided not to do any face makeup because I didn't wanna look like i was trying to hard, but still I wanted to look pretty at the same time. It was a hard balance to find.
