CHAPTER TEN
In which he's betrayed.Ace grabbed his keys as he jogged up the brick stairs to Tara's townhome. Sometimes, he'd pop up randomly at Tara's house because hell, he figured if he paid for it he can come and go as he pleases. After dropping Amora off, he felt slightly frustrated at his time with her being cut off. The sad look she displayed all the way to her house and the attitude she held when she got out the car made him feel bad. She was getting comfortable with him, he could tell because her usual timid self hadn't made an appearance in a while. But, since Tara was blowing up his phone he decided to go over there and handle his business.
It didn't matter what he said or did, Tara was always going to act her usual ways. She'd been that way since they met and despite their history, she still knew how to irritate him. Tara basically grew up with Ace as well as helping him whenever he needed in search of some kind of love that he used to display. Instead, he strung her along and used her when he needed something or wanted sex. Sure, he handled her bills and made sure she was straight at the end of the day, Tara still longed for more. Because of the role she played in his life, she knew she could call whenever. But, him dating other girls was out the question because she wasn't just the jealous type, she was also crazy. If Tara Wilson couldn't have Ace Banks all to herself, nobody could.
Tara opened the door, looking as good as ever. Her hair was freshly done as well as her makeup. She sported a bodycon, tight fitted romper that hugged all her curves. She smirked at him, knowing he was mad and that she. was about to get exactly what she called for. Or so she thought. "Hey, baby." She greeted, leaning in for a hug.
Ace turned his lip up at her, dodging her hug. "Tara, you been blowing my phone up. Have you lost yo mind?" He asked, shutting the door behind him as his voice raised. Tara lived in a nosey neighborhood and it's not like the two were unknown.
She dropped her hands by her side, her smile being replaced with a mug as she got ready to argue with him. "First of all, I know you was with a bitch! You need to stop trying me because you know how I get. What if I was in danger and you steady ignoring me, Ace?" She stressed, getting upset. "I do all this for you and you don't appreciate me!" She shouted back, getting into his face.
