Chapter Four: The Witnesses

{Day 3, Wednesday}

In the classroom before class started, Tash was sitting on her chair beside the window thinking about the mysterious door. Her friends, Julia and Victoria noticed that she was just sitting there in silence ever since she arrived. They got a little worried so they approached her and they had a conversation.

"Hey Tash, so is it really true?" Julia whispered to her ear, "That you saw dead bodies behind the door?"

Tash looked outside the window, and responded "I saw many dead roting bodies of students who mysteriously went missing here in school."

"Lets just check the room to see if its really true.." Victoria referred to Julia.

While they were talking to each other, a random student was passing by and overheard their whole conversation. Because of curiosity, their classmate decided to follow them after class.

Class dismissed again, the girls went to the mysterious door and waited for the other students to go home so that they would not be caught red-handed.

Julia and Victoria approached the door. When Julia held the doorknob, she glanced at Victoria and said "Lets take a very quick peek.."

When they were about to open the door, Tash warned the two girls "B-be sure to..cover your nose"

Julia refused, "Nah! Its fine! Its just a quick peek anyway!"

The two girls opened the door and it made a creaking sound. They did not expect to see some dead bodies inside. The pungent smell coming from the corpses entered their nostrils.
Victoria suddenly shut the door in fear as she moved away from it.

"I-I think I'm gonna throw up!" She exclaimed while she was covering her mouth.

Julia stood silent while trembling in fear.
"Who..could possibly killed them?! This is bad..." she said as she shook her head.

Tash went closer to the two, "We should report this to the police or something!"

"N-NO!" Julia shouted, "What if we got blamed for this?! What if we got into another problem?!"

"Julia has a point, Tash." Victoria added, "But first we need to keep this as a secret and never tell-"
Victoria was cut off when the random student from earlier appeared.

"I knew it!! I knew you were here the whole time!" The student shouted.

The girls got shocked, "D-Dianne?!?"

Tash questioned her, "But how?!"

"Well..." Dianne responded, "I heard your conversation earlier."

Julia joined the two, "Listen, if you don't want to get involved in your situation, just go!", she also added "You're TOO popular to give a damn!"

Dianne didn't listen to Julia, "I heard you saw some dead bodies behind this door so I want to see it too!"
Then she held the doorknob.

"Don't open it!" Victoria shouted as she grabbed the girl's hand.

Tash ordered Victoria to stop, "Let her see what's hiding behind that door."

Victoria let go of Dianne. The girl twisted the doorknob and took a peek inside. Her expression dropped after seeing the dead bodies of students.

"There?! Are you happy now?!" Julia yelled at her.

"Lets just go guys, my stomach doesn't feel good.." Victoria murmured.

When the girls were about to leave, Dianne told them to wait for her as she took out her phone. "Wait guys! I have to take a picture of th-"

The girl was cut off when Tash grabbed her phone. "NO!"

Dianne got pissed off and clicked her tongue, "Tsk. Come on, don't be such a coward!"

"You don't understand, Dianne! This is a serious problem and we need to keep this as a secret!"

"So you decided to shut your mouths and think this never happened?"

While the two were arguing, the janitor came and saw them in front of the mysterious door.

"YOU!" he shouted while pointing his finger towards Tash.

"How many times do I have to tell you that you're not allowed to peek inside?!?"
Then, the janitor glanced at her friends.
"You even brought your friends with you! Leave now before they close the gates!"

"W-we will! Sorry!" Julia and Victoria got scared and ran away, while Dianne took her phone from Tash and followed after.

Tash was left with the janitor, her hands were shaking.

The janitor mumbled, "Curiosity can lead to bigger problems, kid."

The girl agitate and left afterwards.

...

Meanwhile in Tash's house, she was chatting with her friends online, discussing about the door.

Victoria: Guys, I think we have a problem..
Julia: What? Why?
Tash: What's wrong, Vic?
Victoria: Its Dianne! Look at her recent post!

Tash scrolled down the website and saw the latest post from Dianne.

Dianne just updated her status:
"OH MY GOD! I JUST SAW DEAD BODIES IN OUR SCHOOL!! THIS IS CRAZY!"

Tash went speechless after seeing her post. She looked at the comments section, seeing many people thought it was just a prank.

"Are you serious?"
"LOL who dafuq hides dead bodies in school?? SMH"
"Is this just an April Fools prank? Its not even April"

Tash continued to chat with her friends after...

Tash: We're gonna get in BIG trouble tomorrow.
Julia: 153 likes and reacts and 78 comments..Not bad for a popular student who ruined everything.😡
Victoria: Lets just see what will happen tomorrow...
Tash: Hope this shit could not get any worse.

Tash shut down her phone and slept.
