After Ahri found the lost Star Guardians: Xayah, Rakan and Neeko, the couple refused to go back with them.
"Sorry Ahri, but it will never be the same after you abandoned us on that damned planet to die" Xayah said, her voice dripped with venom. That was her last words, before they disappeared into the portal, along with Zoe who was laughing like a madman.
Ahri sighed and thought with sadness lacing her heart 'and how i WISh i hadn't. If only i could turn back the time... If only i knew you were still alive and breathing, i would never have been forced to give up the search...'
She turned around, only to be greeted by a flash of green, pink and gold.
The said flash nearly tackled her. Ahri looked down, only to be met by the tear-filled Neeko, who was smiling so Wiley, she thought they would get stuck and stay that way.
After a few seconds, she finally spoke up.
"Neeko knew Star Guardians were out there and looking for us. She knew Ahri and others wouldn't give up on us!" By the time she finished, she was sobbing and hiccuping all over the place.
Ahri's heart clenched at the sight of Neeko's weeping form.
She brought the younger female close to her chest and wrapped her arms around her small frame.
"It's alright now, were here to take you back. You won't have to suffer any longer..." She said gently, as a single, lone tear fell down from her eye.
Slowly they pulled apart and started walking away towards the giant hole that Ahri made when she entered the place.
'Thank you Ahri... I never lost hope...' Neeko thought. She was so happy to see the outside world after all this time trapped in the darkness. She would see light once more.
And the broken star in Ahri's breast pocket started to glow and meant itself back together anew.
