Wang Yibo's POV
Four days had passed after the incident of rogues' indecent deeds. Since then I've been imprisoned in the hospital's bed. Xiao Zhan was sticking around me like a lost puppy, probably because he's been blaming himself for what had happened with the thugs.
I treasured every second of his sincere will to help me be more comfortable here. But once in a while, I feel like Xiao Zhan is too naive for his own well being. Whenever I wanted to use a bathroom or take a shower, he insisted on following to help. Of course, I protested, who wants to be watched while performing their natural needs. It's not like I broke my arm or a leg, it's just a few ribs that got cracked.
However, the past few days Xiao Zhan wasn't able to visit..damn his work as a professor. I miss the smile that could easily melt icebergs, swallow volcanoes, and make the sun turn one-eighty degrees.
I didn't notice my hospital's room's door being opened and two steps following one after the other.
"Son, what are you daydreaming about?" I turned around to see my father standing next to the bed I was laying in, holding a flower bouquet mixed with a vast variety of different shapes and colored flowers. He placed it inside the vase that was already standing on the cabinet next to the bed.
"University. Friends." I genuinely smiled and glanced at Lan Haikuan, who was standing behind our father. "What are you two doing here?"
"Came to check on you. I've heard you saved someone from being abducted and raped?"
"Mm...Kinda."
"I'm proud of you, Wang Yibo. I'm sure, sooner or later you will grow up to be a kind man and a good president for the company." My father smiled while his palm was caressing my shoulder. Even if he was barely home, we knew: I and my brother were there only precious things in this world that made him work so hard. To have a brighter future. That's what he always used to tell us, when we were younger, crying bittersweet tears for missing the sweet touch of a father.
"I have to go back to work now. I'm delighted to see my youngest son recovering fast." He said, before turning on his feet and walking out the door.
"How are you feeling, little fella?" Brother finally decided to speak before comfortably sitting on the edge of the bed.
"It doesn't even hurt that much anymore. The doctor told me I can leave the hospital tomorrow."
"You should stay home for the next few days then. I will call your university to inform them that you will be coming back to your studies next week."
"Mmm." Somehow I am not as excited to be absent from the university for that long. Xiao Zhan is there and I wish I could see him sooner. But whenever my brother puts his mind on certain things, it's not possible to persuade him.
'Then, if there is nothing else you need from me, I will be going. I still have to go back to work." He stood up from the bed, shifted his body to the side before taking steady steps to the door.
"Brother," He froze on the spot while turning to face me again. It's not usual for me to call him "brother". The definition of brother always came with a price or a favor.
"Yes?"
"...What... do people usually do...on dates?" I awkwardly asked, lowering my sight to my hands that were fidgeting on the bedsheets.
