"A bottle of rice wine, a body covered in dust and ashes
Memories go back and forth, spending a life without regrets
From spring to autumn, life comes and goes, Is it right to be in vain?
I'm waiting for the flowers to return and bloom again
Intoxicating meA bottle of rice wine, a body covered in dust and ashes
Memories go back and forth, spending a life without regrets
In my memories, life comes and goes,
I realized clearly in my heart
I want to go back to savor the aftertaste of the wine again;"
The turn of events came to an abrupt twist in destiny.
Xiao Zhan's POV
The conference started and it went smoothly most of the time. I was amazed at the judgments the lecturers announced, their opinions on the rising problem of these centuries businesses' beliefs. In their opinion, these days various spheres are being established due to the lowering economy of the country. Finances are ruling the world, distributing the economy to the poor and wealthy. The more money you have, the more you are being adored by society, gaining prestige points in your invisible self-worth agenda. That is where the problem lingers.
If people focused more on the things they love to do and contribute to the world's better peace, instead of focusing their attention on the profit they will gain out of it, there would be fewer businesses on the brink of bankruptcy. Value comes from effort and devotion, not from the selfish desire of becoming wealthy.
As Congress was coming to an end for today, people stood from their chairs and started walking to the exit, squirming next to each other. I calmly grabbed my notebook and a pen from the retractable table and followed the crowd outside. I didn't get far.
Someone roughly brushed over my shoulder which made me drop my pen on the ground so I bent down to pick it up. The moment I took the pen back in my palm, I stood up and my head collided with a hard surface.
"Owch!" I whined.
My hand swiftly landed on my head, rubbing it, however, the next minute I heard a loud bang, followed by a crashing sound. When I focused my attention on the sound, my eyes widened.
"I am so sorry!" I ran to the man, picking his laptop from the ground, "I will compensate you, I am so sorry!" I bowed down, staring at my feet.
"Don't worry about it, it is not that serious," he warmly stated, "Please, lift your head back up," and he gently put a hand on my shoulder.
When I lift my head, the same guy that started the conference with his speech stood next to me, smiling lightly, "I am so sorry for breaking your computer, I didn't realize someone was close to me when I dropped my pen,"
"It's an old computer anyways, just the time to buy a new one," he snickered.
Guilt enveloped me as the computer did not look that old. I am sure I saw the model being advertised on social media and the commercials, so it must be brand-new, "Please...Let me compensate you for my clumsy mistake. How much was it?" I looked at him with a bitter expression.
