Chapter 6 : A friendly sibling visit

"What are you doing here?" , I stared at the white haired girl in front of me.

I couldn't see her face clearly , because of how dark it was in the room but it was obvious that it was none other than Kayla herself.

The light shined on her through the blinds and all of a sudden , I could finally see her face clearly.

You could tell from her expression that she was surprised , no , more likely nervous.

"Oh...uhm..hi." , she answered me as she avoided eye contact.

"You see...uhmm...."

"I-I just happened to get lost." , she said nervously.

"Lost?" , I said out loud.

"How could she possibly get lost?" , I thought to myself as I looked at the girl in confusion. 

"Okay , that sounds really suspicious. How could she of all people get lost?" , I asked myself inside of my head.

It was very unlikely that a person that has lived here their entire life could possibly get lost. I can understand that this mansion is big , but the chances of her genuinely getting lost in the place where she was born were low.

"Sounds shady." , it accidentally slipped out of my mouth. I meant to say that in my head.

I covered my mouth in surprise and silence fell between the two of us. Neither of us spoke and it was as quiet as if nobody was in the room at all.

"Now that I think about it , I probably shouldn't be mean to her , even if she did enter my room without asking , she's the key to my survival."

"Guess I have no other choice than to let it slide." , I said inside of my head.

"Lady Kayla! Where are you!" , a sudden voice caught both of us by surprise. It was most likely one of Kayla's maids looking for her. 

"Miss! Please come out if you hear me!" , the voice kept getting louder and louder with every passing second.

"Looks like someone's looking for you." , I said out loud as I looked at the frail looking girl.

"Oh...yeah , seems to be my maid." , she said as she still averted eye contact.

"Look.." , I started.

"You can go , I don't know how you got lost or what you were doing in my room but I'm not about to punish you for something so trivial. Just go already , your maid seems to be worried about you." , I finished.

Kayla looked at me in surprise and without adding anything , she quickly went out of my room. 

It was as if she was never here.

"Geez." , I sighed.

"Still , that was really weird. How could she possibly 'get lost'?"

"Ah geez! Whatever! I already had enough for today , I'm going to sleep." 

After I said that , I went to the bathroom and took a  long shower. It made me feel relaxed.

Without thinking much , I went over to my bed and fell into a deep slumber.

"Get up." , I could hear someone's voice but I didn't really pay much attention to it since I was still half-asleep.

"I said get up." , the voice was more aggressive this time around.

"Tch" , a sound came from the same person.
