PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ! DO NOT IGNORE. Hey guys, so I'm really happy with all the views this is getting! It means a lot, thank you. I've been noticing how a lot of you are adding this to your reading list or voting, which is great! It means SO much to me! But, I do really want to know what you guys think, or feel about the story, or predict, so I can take that in to account and think about that when I'm writing.
SO. From now on, the comment that gives the most feedback, or gives a prediction, or even just comments what they feel about a certain line or event, will get a dedication and I will try to include their comment or thought in the story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love you, enjoy the story! (Sorry about not updating, I had finals and it was really stressing. And then of course Christmas and all the things with my family! And then I went to New York for 3 days, and then school started, and it was a lot of activities at once so I was super busy, sorry)
{**~**} Edmund's POV
Breathing a sigh of relief, I reach for the carved door and make my way out. Dozens of interviewers and writers of the leaflet (which is read throughout Narnia and somewhat represents those newspapers we used to have) surround me and pound me with questions. However, my loyal friend and personal protector Elnit (a dwarf) stops them and they are forced to speak one at a time.
"King Edmund, your majesty, how did you get that case under control? Word has it Lotus and Linckmer have been at each others throats for days!"
I smile, rather cofidently and with ease. "Well, it was a tough case. But in the end, each got what they deserved, whether it be good or bad."
The reporters, hearing this, come out with more questions on who actually got what they wanted and who was being punished, but one look at Elnit's cloudy expression and I know if I answer all their questions we'll be out of here by dawn.
Pushing through the crowd, I look up and notice the sky turning a gray, cloudy color. Usually Peter would be at things like this and would have final say after hearing my advice on it first, but he's visiting Archenland for some sort of friendly business thing and has left me in charge meanwhile.
To be honest, though, Peter usually leaves all the village cases entirely to me since he has other duties and attends only the really big, important ones. I don't mind though, because either way I make sure justice is essential in Narnia. He won't do anything without my assent, knowing his temper clouds the fair truth.
Besides, Peter prefers to handle all the war/relations with other countries business. We work like that, me and him- I handle the court cases and small village problems, and he deals with foreign countries, makes sure we don't go to war, and all those other political problems. Like I mentioned earlier, sometimes he shows up at the really big cases, and definintely the ones that are blown out of proportion, which is why he would usually be here to witness Lotus and Linckmer's uncontrolled bickering.
"Your Majesty?" Elnit whispers, interrupting my long train of thoughts. "How much longer are we to wait out here for the carriage? It looks like it's going to rain soon." He frowns up at the sky.
"I'm not sure, but I think the safest option is to find shelter and take cover immediately before we get caught in an awful downpour."
Elnit agrees, and we trek through the forest to find somewhere to avoid the upcoming rain. Halfway through our little expedition, the rain starts. Elnit groans, muttering things under his breath. Finally, he settles down enough to say, "Your Majesty, I think it is best if we get you to the palace immediately. We will have to go walking, I'm afraid."
"No big deal. I actually quite like the rain anyways. And we have already walked about 3 miles, so we don't have much to go."
"We may not have too much to go, but we might still have to stop and take cover if it gets serious and thunder and lightning start. If we find some sort of shelter or a small house in the woods we will have to stay there and wait until the rain stops."
