Soooo....I just realized that the last chapter was well, pretty much a dissapointment . I mean, I was just kind of rushing because I wanted to post SOMETHING so you would know I was alive. I even forgot to put comment if you like Wattpad and vote if you hate bad weather! How DARE I forget to write something so related to the topic? But anyways...I´m sorry it wasn´t the best. Hopefully, this one will be a little better! I am making my chapters like this: Susan´s POV, another person´s POV, Susan´s POV, another person´s POV, etc. This one is written by Lucy´s POV because she was very close to Susan and they both loved Aslan and were close sisters. But don´t worry...there are plenty of Caspian/Susan moments along the way! (What´s their couple name again???? Suspian? Casusan?)
YET ANOTHER LONG A/N! WHAT A LONG APOLOGY LIST THIS IS BECOMING!
{**~**} Lucy´s POV
"I just...I can´t believe it." She´s been here for at least an hour, but...I still can´t believe it.
Here is my sister, alive and breathing, in Naria, standing right next to me.
I give her one more hug, just for good measure.
"Oh, Lucy...you're such a darling." She laughs, the familiar sound ringing in my ears. The good old Narnian air has gotten to her, and she´s talking and acting more like a Queen every second. But that doesn't stop her from stroking my hair like the motherly hen she always was, and had been.
"Well, I'm pretty sure it's going to rain, so we should better get inside." Peter announced, looking at our sister with sparkling eyes.
I can already tell they´re going to have one of their older sibling talks upstairs, discussing what needs to be done in our family, how to help us, and blah blah blah. But then Susan will probably go to my room and we´ll catch up and and she´ll tell me all about how London is doing.
Susan briefly glances at Edmund, and a look of understanding passes between them. Edmund probably understands Susan better than anyone else right now.
I jump up and down, excited, smiling from ear to ear.
"C´mon, let´s go inside already! Caspian will be so happy to see you!"
I don´t understand why, but Susan seems to be dreading this. Why should she? I was sure that they would run in to each others arms, but Susan seems hesitant.
Nevertheless, no one else seems to notice, so we all go inside to find Caspian and avoid the rain that is already starting to drop.
Once inside, I lead Susan up the long stairs and in to the ballroom, where I know for sure Caspian is waiting. She has no trouble finding her way (she used to live here, after all) and the guards open the large doors for us.
"Ummmm...Lucy?" Susan whispers to me.
"Yes?"
"Is Caspian going to be here?"
I nod.
"Really? Oh, then...please tell him I was feeling under the weather. I want to go to my room and see all of the clothes I have for tonight. Please just... send my condolonces. Just cover for me, okay?
And before I know it, she ducks out of the room and I hear her feet softly padding down the stairs.
What was all that about? Did Susan really want to see her old things more than seeing Caspian?
Before I could get any more confused, Caspian steps in to the ballroom. He has a hopeful and happy expression on his face, but it quickly goes away.
"Where´s...where´s Susan? Did she actually come? Did she decide to stay in Lindoon?"
On another occasion, I might have laughed at Caspian´s name for our old home, but it doesn´t seem like the right time.
"Oh, no! No, she´s...she´s here. But she isn´t quite...in the mood to...to see too many people. I mean, she´d love to see you, of course, but I think she just wants to get a little bit used to her surroundings first, before she sees all her old friends again."
Even I can hear how unsure I sound. And I know better than anyone that the first thing Susan will want to do is catch up with all her friends and chat and squeal and, just...talk. Caspian seems to realize that, and his whole face turns gloomy. I feel horrible having to lie...I never lie.
"Well," he says, "I can´t stay for the feast tonight, since I have some business with Archenland. Please do send my greetings. I am sure her welcome party will be loud."
Once again, he walks out before I can say anything and I hear his loud footsteps on the corridor.
I sigh, hoping that I won´t have to be messenger and stuck in the middle forever.
******
The welcome party for Susan is the best dinner I have ever had. Since Caspian didn´t come, Susan and I seemed to forget today´s events and had a blast. Susan´s cheeks were rosy red, her eyes sparkly and lit up, and her expression was one that was content and relaxed. I hadn´t realized how happy she really was in Narnia, her home.
The actual food in itself was, of course, delicious, but it couldn´t be anything but yummy since we were in a form of True Narnia. Peter and Edmund watched Susan chatting and gossiping with all our old friends, including Mr. Tumnus, whom she gave a big hug. I, instead, joined in on all the conversations that were buzzing across the cool air.
It was like the puzzle piece that had been missing for so long was now finally back. Everything just felt so...complete. Peter, Edmund and Trumpkin discussed swordplay in their own little world while everyone else chatted about preparations for Susan´s official return to Narnia ceremony. Prince Corin and Cor and Princess Aravis were invited, as well as all other habitants of Narnia and talking beasts. There were whispers that there might even be a re-coronation, but Susan told me that she was against that idea later.
"But why? A re-coronation sounds fun, with all of the people and fancy dresse and things."
Susan sighs. "Yes, I know, but I would just feel so...excluded. Like I have to be seperated from my siblings and have a re-coronation. I know I stopped being a friend of Narnia for a while, but now I just want things to be back like they used to be, with me being the same as all of you. Besides, Aslan said that once a Queen of Narnia, forever a Queen of Narnia, so there really isn´t any need for a re-coronation, is there?"
I could sort of see where she was coming from, that she didn´t want to show that she had ever stopped being a Queen, but I still thought a coronation would be great fun.
Apart from that, the rest of the night was merry and fun. The fauns presented a dance and song, and it made Susan so happy that she stood up and started dancing along with them. Of course, that made everyone else start dancing, and soon it was a mix of clumsy people, talking beasts, and graceful fauns, dancing the night away.
What occured to me later was that not once did Susan look sad or dissapointed that Caspian hadn´t come.
Sooooooooooooo........THAT´S THAT, DON´T BE DISAPOINTED OR HATE ME OR ANYTHING. You will know why she didn´t want to see him later...as in, next chapter. I will love you foreveeeeeeeeeer if you comment why you think she didn´t want to see Caspian. It´s pretty obvious and most of you should get it but oh well. Anyways, I hope you liked this chapter! Also comment if you know what Susan´s and Caspian´s couple name is. Vote if you hate chores and comment if HW sucks! ´Til Next Time!
P.S To the right is what I think Caspian´s face looked like when he found out Susan didn´t want to see him. Just my opinion though, you can imagine it any way you want!
