        "CRYSTAL! CRYYYSTAALL?"
I was in my room with my sister when I heard my dad yelling from the kitchen.

        "CRYSTAL IT'S YOUR MOM!"

I've waited for about 3 hours for my mom to get back to my dad's text.

"Are you gonna come with me?" I asked Breanna.

"No, it's okay. I don't want to ruin your moment. I'll just talk to her another day."

I ran out of the room before she could say more, and descended down the stairs into the kitchen. My dad handed me the phone.

"Uh.. H-hello?" I whispered into the phone.

"Hey sweetie! How are you doing today? Is everything good? I miss you!" Her voice is light and sweet. I can imagine a wide smile on her face, just like the one I saw in her picture.

"I'm doing great! I've just been hanging out with Breanna and her friends," I said. "I'm so excited for California, but I'm really going to miss you this Christmas."

My dad gave me a warm smile and rubbed my shoulder as I looked down to the floor and frowned.

"I know, I'm really sorry. I promise I'll visit during New Years!" she said.

"Okay, that actually made my day," I laughed. We talked a little more about California and her job. She works as a CEO of a video game developer company. No wonder she's always busy. What a woman, providing for her family like that. My dad is very lucky.

"Alright, well I've got to go. I have a meeting with one of my employees soon. I'll talk to you later! I love you!" She rushed out.

"Oh, okay!" I said, "Um, I love you too!!" That's the first time I've ever used those words. I truly love my mom.

"How'd it go?" Breanna asked when I got back up to our room. She was completing a puzzle on the floor.

"It was good. She seems really nice. It's just a real bummer that I can't meet her in person sooner," I said.

"Yeah,  I really miss her too." She looked sad. I sat down next to her and looked at the puzzle.

"What is this puzzle supposed to make?" I asked.

"It's supposed to be a flower! This is my first time doing a five hundred piece puzzle, it's really hard," she said, her sadness forming into excitement.

"Do you need any help? Maybe it will be easier if we work on it together," I said.

She nodded, and we spent the rest of the night putting the pieces of the puzzle together to make a beautiful sunflower.

Just like how I was figuring out this new life of mine, putting the pieces together and hopimg it makes something beautiful too.
