Chapter 3: The Bastard Of A Cheater

Silence filled the room after his mother yelled about wanting me gone, there had been a time when I feared her and wanted to be accepted by her. But once I got involved with my father in law in the business, who was a mischievous bastard but accepted her as a daughter made me well known amongst others.

"And what if I don't go anywhere?"

I questioned, folding my arms under my chest as I stared into her eyes fearlessly, she seemed startled by my behaviour but quickly composed herself and turned towards Talia who quickly made her way towards her.

"Then you must accept Talia here, in my sons house!"

My fingers once again balled into a fist, my hands dropping to my side and I felt my nails digging into my skin as I stared at Helen.

"Mother, what kind of joke is this? Have you forgotten Rose is my wife."

Lincoln yelled angrily, I could see the fear once again appear in the eyes of Helen but I quickly disappeared. She glared at me before looking at Lincoln as if he had just spoken gibberish.

"I have not forgotten that she is your wife, son. However, in this condition I do not think it would be suitable for her to live alone. Anything could happen."

There it was, the tone which she used when she wanted things her way. I shook my head and approached Talia who stared at me stiffening, her hands instantly wrapping around her bump as she stared at me.

"Get out or I will make you leave...pregnant or not!"

I threatened, I was now inches away from the women who had taken all my happiness away from me. I watched her look at Helen before looking back at me and glaring as she took a step back, her arms still wrapped around her belly.

"I won't. I have rights to be here just as much as you do, let's not forget this child is his and also the sibling of Luca."

At the end she smirked whilst staring at me, I cringed at the thought of Luca having a step siblings. I had always wanted Luca to have a sibling, but never in my imagination did I ever think this was how he would have a sibling.

"Yeah his illegitimate and bastard sibling."

I retorted, now it was my time to smirk. Her lips were now in a thin line, bastard children never had a good reputation in the Mafia society. From what I have heard Illegitimate would have to fight for their place, at times they would be killed before they even have a chance to grow up.

"My child will not be a bastard, right Lincoln?"

All attention had now shifted to Lincoln as Talia looked at him in hopes that he would support her, I rolled my eyes awaiting a response.

"What else do you call a child made out of wedlock, I will support this child but that is it."

A gasp was heard which came from Helen whilst she held a teared up Talia beside her, she stared at me with hatred which was evident in her eyes.

"I am disappointed, Talia will be staying with me until you man up and change your decision of bring her to this house son."

Helen said, eyeing her son who returned by look at her. I had always known Helen and Lincoln did not have the best relationship as she had always been controlling and at the beginning I had always tried to change that but now I see that she wanted Lincoln to do what ever she says.

"That will be a great idea, mother. This would then mean she would not be alone."

Lincoln's words had been something his mother had not expected from him, from the shock face that he was actually letter her take her home and not keep her here to continue to annoy and hurt me.

"I am upset, son. You are forgetting your son for a women."

Now it was my turn to fume in anger, I could not believe she would regard me as just a 'women' as if I did not hold his surname,  as if the ring on my finger did not make me his wife.

"This women, is my wife." He yelled, I could tell he was reaching his peak. And so did his mother, who took a step back taking Talia with her.

"We will continue this conversation once you have cooled down, come on Talia."

Helen did not wait for the response of Lincoln, and turned around to walk away but not before sending an evil and warning glare to me. I hated the fact my like had taken an one eight degree turn, how it just flipped from the dreams of being a happy family to a family which had a dent in it, a family that was in a thin thread which could be easily cut off.

"How do I know that the child inside this home wrecker is my husband's and not some random person of the streets."

My words made the two walking women stop, it was Talia who turned around first with a look that could kill anyone. If looks could kill I was sure I would have been dead way before and by the eyes of his mother instead.

"WATCH YOUR MOUTH, I am not a prostitute or a women who allows men who I don't know to impregnate me."

She screamed I could just imagine her thoughts of strangling me as she fisted her palms an intense glare, she looked like a women who had just been rejected and could not cope with the fact she was the home wrecker, the slut who opened her legs to my husband.

"So you allow men you know to make you pregnant, so how sure are you this is my husbands. You know men other than my husband as well, right."

If she was livid before she was definitely fuming now, I waited for a response but all she did was turn around and marching away like a solider who does left, right and she went out of my house with my mother in law rushing beside her.

"Rose."

"It's Lyric for you Mr Martinez."
