When we arrived at the palace it was night time so we were escorted striaght to our rooms. We were going to meet our maids tomorrow, our instructor, and recieve a proper tour around the castle. When I first walked into the palace I was in so much awe I wanted to cry.
I looked up and it was like looking into the windows of heaven. There were vaulted ceilings and intricate murals painted. I walked through countless arcades of arcs and there were small tables with large stunning vases filled with exotic flowers and candles lined the walls.
There were starbursts of colors and designs. The walls looked high and endless. The floors were somtimes marble, sometimes wood, sometimes covered in lush carpet I wanted to sink my toes in. There were beautiful intricate walls, so many enormous grand doors, and secret staircases.
Then...I stepped into my bedroom.
It was magical.
My room was probably bigger than life. The ceilings were just as high and a grand chandelier that looked like crystal tear drops hung from the ceiling making the room look as though it was glittering. I felt like I had just walked into to heaven. I turned on the balls of my feet but in no amount of turns would I be able to absorb the enormity and beauty of my bedroom.
I almost laughed. There was a huge canopy over the bed. There was a stunning dresser, vanity, and a wardrobe. There was a chest at the foot of the bed, a beautiful mural on one of my walls, and intricate designs and flowers everywhere. The colors were champagne, dark bronze, ivory, off white, and orange and gold.
The room looked ablaze. I felt like I was in heaven. I ran collpasing into the bed and laughed when I sank so deep into the plush pillows and silk sheets I couldn't get out. My hair fell into my house and my body had never known such warmth before. I rolled out of bed and stepped into the beautiful bathroom attached to my bedroom. There was a tub, a shower, a toilet and a huge mirror. The room was beautiful granite and tile.
I walked around my room once more and saw the balcony. I reached out taking each iron handle in my hand and pushed the doors open. A gust of wind so warm and welcoming hit me I felt my body melt. I shut my eyes trying to imagine I was home but I couldn't. I wasn't home and suddenly despite being so tired I didn't want to go to sleep. I was living the best dream possible.
While I didn't want to be here I had to be grateful. This was wonderful afterall. I walked out into the balcony and notice the gardens were right below me. I just ached to go and look at all the flowers and watch the fireflies fly. There was a guard at my door that would never let me out. I looked around but seeing as there was no way to get down I gave up.
Until I caught sight of the vines. I smiled.
