Chapter 1: Summer Vacation
LYSSANNA
"Hnggg," I muttered as the light coming from the sun touches my fair skin. I twitched my brows and rubbed my eyes.'Oh the weather is so fine today.'
I smiled and carefully sat on the bed. I pointed my gaze at the clock and yawned again.
'It's 7:03 AM and I have a training today at exactly 8:30 AM.'
I jumped out of bed and decided to take a bath. Being early is what I've learned this fast few weeks. Well, it's good to try something new though.
Whenever the cold water touches my body, it gives me shivers down to my spine and it makes me relax somehow. I like it anyway, so I didn't bother myself to switch the heater. Its coldness made me remember thousands of memories.
It's been a month since I woke up late and rushed going into a fancy and cozy place.
It's been a month since I encountered familiar personalities and faces.
It's been a month since I always bother myself going into a silent place with lots of books.
It's been a month since we bid our goodbyes to each other.
It's been a month since the last day of school. And now, we're having our summer vacation.
'Yeah, going to school is fun but, summer vacation is more fun!'
How time flies so fast, kanina lamang ay inaalala ko lang ang mga nakaraan, ngayon naman ay nakabihis na ako. I wore plain black loose shirt and its front is tucked in a black cargo pants. I also paired it with white rubber shoes.
I currently brushing my hair, when someone gently knocked on my door. "Come in," I said while looking at my reflection in the mirror.
"Ma'am pinapatawag na po kayo sa baba ng Papa at Mama niyo," from that familiar voice, I know it's ate Marie, the newly hired maid of our family. I prefer to call them ate or manang-----depends with their ages, because I don't feel like calling them 'yaya'. I want them to feel that they're our family, and not just our maids.
"I'll be there in few minutes, pakisabi, ate. Salamat," I said while flashing my smile reflecting in the mirror. I heard a sound of closing door. I tucked my hair in between my ears and wore my black cap. I took a quick glance again at my reflection and decided to go downstairs.
"Good morning, Ma," I leaned towards her and kiss her cheek. "Good morning, sweetie," she shot a sweet smile at me. I walked towards Dad and I did the same thing too.
Dumeretso ako sa kusina dala-dala ang water bottle ko upang lagyan ito ng tubig. Natapos naman agad iyon at bumalik na rin ako sa dining table.
"Here, sweetie, have a bite first," she handed me a plate. Umiling naman ako rito at nagtataka itong napatingin sa akin. "I would love to, Ma. But I really need to go." She gave me a worried look, but I just smiled at her. "Is that so? Okay, if you insist," tumayo ito at pumunta saglit sa kusina.
Pagbalik nito ay may dala na itong maliit na tupperware. "Take this instead. Hindi magandang sumayaw nang walang laman ang tiyan," ngumiti ito sa akin habang iwinawasiwas ng marahan ang tupperware sa harap ko. Ngumiti ako rito at sinabayan iyon ng tango. "Okay, Ma. You're the best!" niyakap ko ito at kinuha na ang tupperware sa kaniya at inilagay ito sa aking dalang bag.
