Chapter 1: New Year's Wish
Our school was having a party at ten p.m. 'till one in the morning on New Year's Eve, which is today. It was a tradition that started when the school first opened decades ago. I've heard that more than three fourths of the students and teachers go, and I plan to be one of them.
The party is mostly known as the "New Year's Wish" where you wish on the brightest star. Story goes, there was a nerd boy who was in love with a popular hot chic. He would always embarrass himself in front of her on accident and was always bullied. One day, this very day actually, he wished on the brightest star to be the most hottest guy in school and marry the hot chic. Did it work? ¡Si! I don't even know how!
Now students before us have done the same. Most of them say it's true and it really worked, but you don't really have to wish on true love, you can wish on other things too. Like being a super model or a millionaire or perhaps the next Lady Gaga...
But to tell myself the truth, I don't believe in wishes. I only believe that if you work hard for it you earn it. That's worked for me more than wishing on some stupid star.
Although, I actually would like to try it out and "wish" on the brightest star tonight, but of course with my mejores amigos, Francis and Gilbert. Besides, Lovino was coming and this was my second year in high school and next year it would be my last! Dios, we grow up so fast don't we?
"ANTONIO!"
I snapped out of my thoughts as someone yelled in my ear and jumped sideways like a cat would do when you scream at them in their sleep. As I jumped, I ended up hitting the wall so hard you could actually hear the 'thud' sound loud and clear and stumbled to the ground.
"Y-you didn't have to yell in my ear!" I screamed back to whomever screamed at me first.
I heard someone laughing 'kesesese' and a pale hand reached for me. I took it out of generosity and stood up. I rubbed my left shoulder since it was that that hit the wall. I turn around to the person, no two people, and noticed that I was face-to-face-to-face with my best friends.
"Mon ami, I told you not to scream in his ear." Francis said and tried not to chuckle.
I pouted and glared at them as they both ended up bursting out laughing. Gilbert seemed like he was going to die of laughter since he was crying now and telling himself to stop. Francis finally stopped and was now wiping a tear off his face.
"Ke-keses*cough*sesese! T-Toni, kesesese, v-vere you thinking about h-kesesese, having sex with a hot chic at ze p-kese-party?" Gilbert said to me.
This slightly offended me considering why Gil thinks I'll do such a thing so I replied,"Por Dios, of course not! I was just thinking about how the party would look like!"
"Gil, please don't ruin this for us. It is our first time going. Last year they said they had to cancel it because some stupid person decided to put Aphrodite in the food." Francis said like he was upset they had to cancel the party. But of course, we all know he would have been happy many high school girls were...oh never mind!
We were walking down a hallway and hoped it was the right one leading to the school gym. All of the hallways look the same nowadays and it was awfully quite, and scary, since there were letters hanging on the wall from elementary kids (this is another tradition in our school). Most of them were saying what they hoped high school would be like while others hope they find their significant other.
I actually feel pretty sorry for these children's hopes and dreams...No you won't find a rainbow unicorn in the fields, no you won't be able to become an awesome guy because it's pretty hard to achieve (even Gilbert isn't able to fully be awesome, but me and Francis encourage him anyways), and no it isn't easy to find true love. I know that because, well, because I tried to be with my...crush, but it didn't turn out well...
"¿Que estás haciendo?" I said as I peeked inside the student council's room.
"What?"
"What are you doing?"
"Oh, for a minute their I thought you said- WAIT! ARE YOU TRYING TO DISTRACT ME FROM MY WORK?!"
I was too shocked to answer, but not because he yelled at me (that's normal since we both argue everyday almost every hour and end up screaming at the top of our longs at each other) but because he thought I was distracting him from his work. I know that the student council is pretty busy almost every minute of the day, but I'm just trying to, you know, hang out with my crush.
"N-no!"
"I SAW YOU HESITATE! GET OUT YOU, YOU BLODDY GIT!"
And I ended up running...
I felt a nudge on my shoulder so I looked who it was. Francis was holding one hand over his mouth and shaking while his other hand pointing to the janitor's closet. We heard moaning coming from it and without a second thought I sprinted far away. I looked back and saw that Gilbert tried to peek inside, but of course you'd have to yank on the door hard to even have a tiny crack!
I tried to scream-whisper at them, " ¡ay, Vamonos!"
Gil and Francis snickered and tiptoed away from the door towards me.
"Kesesesesesese! I guess people are having se-"
I ran away before Gilbert could say anymore, but I guess Francis decided to join along and tease me too since I heard them try to talk loud but quite at the same time about...I closed my "pure" ears and walked away from them.
They snickered again and ran to catch up with me. As they did, I took out my phone and turned it on. It was ten twenty-one. Francis, Gilbert, and I decided to speed walk since we were probably the last ones to go to the party.
I hope the school party isn't boring and suck-ish like how the middle school parties were...
