Chang bin was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't even realize that he was already sitting in his History class. Apparently, none of his friends shared this class with him, leaving him to sit on the third seat in the middle alone. Ji young and Ki hyuck had Chemistry, Areum and So jong had P.E while Chae young had English Literature, and he knew Chae young had some friend along with her, leaving his not so social ass here, alone in History. He sighed as he pushed back his hair and covered his face with both of his hands and rubbed his face a bit. Memories of last night, where he saw two boys kissing, were being played in his mind for the eighteenth time, ever since he woke up. He remembered the feeling in his stomach when he watched them, without them knowing. He envied them, for having such courage, even though it was two in the morning and no one was out in the streets, they still were in the eye of the public and anyone, literally anyone would've seen them, but they didn't seem to care.
Since South Korea was a homophobic country, it was rare to see people who were a part of the LGBT+ community and those who were a part of this community feared the judgmental too much to come out or be proud of themselves and be open about their relationship. A big reason why Chang bin was scared of coming out.
Yes, he was gay. But the thought of anyone finding out about his sexuality scared the living hell out of him. No one, exactly no one knew about his sexuality, not his parents, not his friends, not his family, he hadn't even mentioned it in his diary since he was too scared if someone would find out if they read it, even though it was buried deep down in his clothes inside his closet. He was so scared of coming out of the closet that he would pretend to be talk like a hetero, trying to join in conversations between his male friends when they talked about some girl's ass or breast. Though he was completely disgusted by those kind of talks, the fear of someone finding out was much bigger.
He got reminded about the scene that happened about a week ago in the hallway. How Ki hyuck called two boys 'faggots', he knew if his friends found out about Chang bin being gay they would treat him the same. But he was really surprised how those boys reacted, they seemed to not even care. Chang bin wasn't even sure if those two kids were gay or was it just an insult that Ki hyuck had thrown at the two boys, but they seemed unfazed, not even giving a single care about being insulted like that in front of everyone. Chang bin remembered how the blonde hair boy, blew the smoke on Ki hyuck's mouth, daring him to try. He wished he had that kind of confidence.
He never had anyone to tell them his secrets or what he felt. His father worked in Austria so he had shifted there a long time ago, rarely visiting his family because of his tight schedule due to his job. His mother was a surgeon and would always be busy in the hospital. He missed them a lot, his parents used to be the best parents when he was a kid but ever since he turned thirteen, it seemed like their work was much important than their own son, leaving him alone in the house. His mother usually had a night shift. She would come back home in the morning when Chang bin was at school, she would cook food for herself and Chang bin, when he would return from school she would be asleep and when he's in his room, his mother would shout out that their was money in the counter along with food and then she would be off to work.
He got out of his thoughts and was pulled back into reality when he heard Mrs. Moon talking, he shook his head a little as he came back from being dazed and looked at his teacher.
"-So I have decided that their will be a class project, and since none of you really pay attention or try to do the previous projects I had told you all to do, except for a few students. I have decided that this project will held about twenty marks in your final examination and I may give you more marks in your paper according to this project". All the students found themselves groaning, really not wanting to do the project but were a bit revealed that if they did good in the project, they would pass this subject in the final exam and wouldn't have to repeat this grade since everyone knew Mrs. Moon rarely gave good marks.
"Now you all will be paired in a group of two and it'll be chosen by your luck. I want everyone to write their name on a piece of paper, fold it and put it in this box, i'll mix them all together and randomly pick two piece of paper and the students who had their names on those two piece of paper will be partners, Okay? Now everyone write their names". Students continued to groan as they started to write their names. Chang bin took out his blue ball-pen, tearing up a small piece of paper from his notebook, he began to write his name.
He wished that he would get to be paired with someone who was nice and won't tell him to do all the project by himself because he knew that he wouldn't do anything and just do it all by himself, he didn't want to get a bad grade and a bad impression on his teacher about his studies since he knew he already had a bad impression because he was friends with the popular kids, Ae rum, Chae young, Ki hyuck, Ji young and So jong, everyone knew who they were.
Everyone was done writing their names and soon the box was filled with the names of the students. Everyone sat back at their seats and waited for being their names called out and finding out who their partner would be for the project. Chang bin anxiously bit his lower lip as fiddled his fingers, as Mrs. Moon started to take out the pieces of paper.
"Okay, Lee Ji soo with Boo Ho seok.
"Kim Jae min with Choi Ji hyo".
"Shin Je no with Choi Yu na".
"Hwang Hyun jin with Kim Seung min".
Like that Mrs. Moon started to call out the names of students and the students who got their names called raised their hands, so that they could know who their partner was. Chang bin felt anxious as Mrs. Moon continued to call out the names of students and then-
"Seo Chang bin and Lee Felix". Chang bin raised his hand, finally his name got called. Students sitting in front of him, turned to look at him and then they turned to look at the back, whispering to themselves. Chang bin's eyes furrowed his eyes as he saw the students glancing at the back. He hesitated but, he turned to look at what the students were looking at, which he guessed was his partner for the project.
Chang bin's eyes widened a bit as he turned to see a familiar tall black haired boy and besides him sat the blonde hair boy with his legs opened and his arms folded on his chest, his hair were pushed back, revealing his forehead as he quietly stared at Mrs. Moon.
Their eyes met each other's.
