EDEN ABRELL
"So how are you and the baby?" Huxley asked as we pulled up at one of the restaurants in town.
"We're great. Both healthy and both missed you," I looked over at Huxley and smiled before becoming confused. Why are we here? "What—"
"I have something to tell you, Eden." He grabbed my hands in his and gazed into my eyes. "The reason I was away all week was that I was getting my divorce finalised."
I let out a short outward gasp as my eyes watched him in disbelief, "So you're—" I didn't know what to say.
What if this isn't real?
"I'm a free man, Eden." A joyful grin kissed my lips as soon as the words left his mouth and I wrapped my arms around him.
"Is this real?" I whispered, unable to fully process the information he's given me.
"It's real, stunning," He wrapped his arms around me and gently rubbed my back. My cheeks popped in contentment as I smiled shyly.
"Come on. Let's go." He pulled out of our embrace and stepped out of the car, rushing to my side and opening my door for me. I took off my seatbelt and smiled when I saw the hand he extended for me. I took his hand and stepped out of the car. He closed the door behind me and I wrapped my arms around him. I felt his strong arms wrap around my waist and pull me closer. He buried his face into the crook of my neck and I did the same. We stayed there for a few minutes, just embracing each other.
Even though the weather was quite warm this time of year, I still felt cold and the only place I felt warm was in Huxley's arms. I sighed in content and revelled in his warmth.
"I love you," I looked him in the eye, linking my arms around his neck.
"I love you," He cupped both my cheeks and placed a sweet kiss on my lips.
"Get a room," A voice called behind us. We pulled apart and came to face Gracie with a guy at her side. I smirked and crossed my arms, placing my weight on my left leg as I watched her. "Oi, don't look at me like that," She huffed, rolling her eyes as she fought a grin.
"Like what, crazy?" I raised my eyebrow, a smirk still caught on my lips. Huxley snaked his arms around my waist and rested his hands on my belly, stroking it softly as he rests his chin on my head.
"You know what like, Eden." She shook her head at me as the grin broke onto her face.
Gracie paused, "Wait, you're together."
She watched us, "In public."
Her eyes widened, "Dad, does this mean?" Huxley nodded, his lips quirking into a smile.
