Turn around, Beautiful, turn around.

I pleaded with her in mind, as if she could hear me. I didn't want her to watch this. We'd been trained about car crashes involving our trucks, but I knew with as fast as this guy was going, I was going to be thrown.

She was running desperately, screaming my name. I could pick that voice out anywhere.

I stared at her, bracing my self against the bucket with one arm and trying to lower myself with the other.

And in the next minute.... I was falling.

Yours, Beautiful, yours. Always yours.

When I tried to open my eyes, I was met with blinding light and blinding pain. Men from my crew were screaming... someone was talking in garbled nonsense close to me that I couldn't quite make out. My ears were ringing.

I tried to turn my head and look for Beau, but the pain was too great. It was as if I couldn't feel a single part of my body on its own. As if the whole thing was radiating with heated pain that oozed out and over me.

Jack was at my side, talking, and trying to get my attention. I could just barely make out his words. It sounded like I was wearing ear muffs. If I fluttered my eyes, I could see his mouth moving, but I had no idea what he was saying.

"B-b-b..." I croaked, trying to ask him about her.

He placed a finger over his lips and over annunciated "Shhh", shushing me. His face looked panicked. Did I look that bad?

Again, the voices faded in and out, and all I could focus on in between the searing pain was her. Her in my arms. Her beneath me. Her lips on mine. I tried to trace her body in my mind to stay awake but it just hurt too much.

I was being poked and prodded, and all I could feel was pain wherever they touched.

I couldn't stand it any longer. I closed my eyes to rest.

Yours, Beautiful, yours. Don't cry.
