Chatper 8 - Graduation

Time skip - 2 Years. Y/N POV

Here we are. Senior year of high school. Well, for me it is. Meru is doing some sort of additional credit class to help her graduate alongside me. Things have been good at home and here at school. Word got out that Chelsea and Brian left town after our little stunt a few years ago, so that made school so much better. Speaking of progress, Mom figured out about Meru and I being a thing. She actually said she sent Uncle Buck to make sure we had some kind of security detail on our first 'Date'. Anyways, it was almost time for graduation, Meru and I already bought our cap & gown along with pictures. Mom made sure to get those the first chance she got.

Meru and I were in her room, practicing for our stage-walk when Mom came in to see us.

"Look at you two. Seems like it was yesterday you guys were sitting on the couch and playing video games right after graduating middle school." Mom said, reminiscing about our younger years. I had to admit, I was reminiscing as well. But I was thinking about how far Meru and I have gotten together. To be completely honest, I don't think I would've stayed sane if it wasn't for her. She's been the woman I tell everything. Even Mom doesn't know some things I've been through. But Meru? She's seen all of me. My strength, my weakness, my highs, and my lows. I look at her in her Cap & Gown and smile. I'm not a very smart man, but I know love when I see it. And Meru is the woman I love with every fiber of my being. She catches me staring, shooting me an adorable smile. I'm so happy to see the woman she's grown into. Speaking of that, it's as if her body has filled quite nicely. We were training yesterday when I noticed how solid her core has gotten and how her body was becoming sexier. But that adorable and brash personality of hers is the most perfect thing about her. I had planned on doing something for her for a while. I even asked Mom for help, which she did with no hesitation. I felt my pocket, feeling that I still had it on me. I was gonna do it...I was making this whole thing final after graduation.

Meru POV

As I spin in my Cap & Gown, I see Y/N staring at me. His gaze was that of a man completely in love. I would be lying if I said I didn't feel the same, but we've both made it clear that we were in this for the long haul. I give him a smile, signifying my love for him without having to say a word. I think to the near future, to graduation. I knew it was big for Y/N and I, but I was going to give him a gift after we finish. Something only I can give him. It was awkward, but I talked to Mom about it and she seemed almost happy with my plan.

'I hope you're happy with my gift, Y/N. Because there's no one else I'd rather give it to than you...' I think to myself as I blush slightly, looking forward to next week. Sure, I was nervous. But this is Y/N I'm talking about...I know he'll treat me right.

Y/N POV

Today's the day. I decided to drive Meru and I to the school so we can prepare for the ceremony early and so Mom could grab her seat early as well. I park the car, Meru and I holding our Gowns as we exit the car.

"I can't believe we're already here. Mom was right, you know? It seems like yesterday when you two took me in and gave me a second chance...and I couldn't have been more thankful." Meru says as we make our way to the auditorium. I notice her eyes beginning to water at the thought. But I know these aren't tears of sorrow...they're tears of happiness, accomplishment, and hope for the future. I put my arm around her shoulders, pulling her into a hug and kissing her forehead.

"You and I both earned this. You especially, since you worked so hard to be here alongside me. I'm so proud of you, baby." I tell her. She looks up at me after I finish and gives me the biggest smile I've seen since the day we first got together. She begins getting on her tiptoes, puckering her lips. I respond in kind, giving her a decent kiss as I hold her in my arms.
