Kya's POV:

I couldn't get that event out of my mind.

"Please, Shirley! He's a god!"

"You're in love with him, too? Well, he's mine!"

"No! Literally!"

"The Greek gods don't exist!"

They wiped all our memories... why didn't it work on me?

I walked over to Percy and the others after school.

"Hi, Percy. Are you gods or not? Everyone says that I'm being ridiculous, but I still remember."

Percy spat out his water onto the pavement, coughing and hitting his chest. Annabeth looked like she was about to faint, and the rest looked shell-shocked.

"What?"

"Do you mind... if we ask you some questions on your heritage?"

"Sure. I don't mind."

"How many parents do you have?"

"I never knew my mother. She apparently 'died giving birth' to me. My father still looks into the sky, saying 'I love you'. I wonder if that's him trying to talk to her in heaven, or him hallucinating. Then he looks at the dirt in our pot and stares at it during dinner."

I heard a growl behind me.

"Oh, shit," Percy muttered.

He whirled around and slashed through a big dog that smelled of sulfur. I coughed.

"Kya! Look out!"

I felt something grab me by the throat and squeeze. A moment later, I saw Percy yell,

"Hey! Beefhead! Long time no see!"

This weird thing put me down and its eyes flashed with recognition before charging. I was about to hop in and help, but Annabeth held me back.

"This is the Minotaur, Percy's arch-nemesis. He defeated it when he was twelve with his bare hands, no training at all."

"WHAT?!" I spluttered out.

Percy was moving with incredible agility. All I could see was the blur of his raven black hair and his sea-green eyes. I heard the Minotaur roar in pain before disintegrating. I saw some golden blood on Percy's neck, but that's it. I heard a hiss behind me and Annabeth pushed me in the other direction. I saw a demon lady. This is weird.

"New demigod scum..."

"Huh?"

"Percy Jackson... Hero of Olympus--"

"I'm a god, you can't kill me."

"WHAT?!" Percy took this as an advantage and sliced her head off.

He dragged me somewhere into his car.

"Kya, no time to explain, you need to come with us now."

"What? Why would I do that?"

"Just get in! I won't hurt you."

He put me in the car and pulled up next to some woods. I saw some things behind us. I ran with Percy at my side. I was face-to-face with another thing. It threw a knife at me. I was frozen in fear. Percy leaped in front of me, it stabbed his ribcage and he gasped in pain.

"GO!" He yelled as he staggered to his feet, golden blood pouring out of his wound.

"Percy! I have to help!"

"No! Go, Wise Girl! Help her get to camp! I'll fend off the monsters!"

I ran with them, feeling like a coward. I saw Percy in a sea of thousands of monsters. I ran to the camp. The moment I stepped in, I fell to my knees, guilt weighing down hard on my soldiers. I heard cries of pain from the border and a horse dude with a bunch of kids with weapons came out.

"Chiron!"

Wait...Chiron was the trainer of heroes...

"What, dear child?"

"We found a new camper...Percy... an army of monsters...1000...woods." She panted.

"Wait, I'm a demigod?!" I yelled. I saw vines grow up around me.

"All hail Kya Cades, daughter of Demeter!"

"Percy!" I realized with a jolt.

Chiron's face paled and we all ran to him. There were mountains of golden dust and in the center of it laid a very still Percy. Golden liquid was pouring from his wounds. His chest wasn't moving. Chiron looked shocked. The campers were staring at him in shock and wonder, then fear. I was the first to rush up. I checked his pulse. Nothing. His breathing. Nothing. I cried out in anguish and Annabeth walked over. She looked worried, but she also looked calm.

"HOW ARE YOU NOT CRYING? YOUR BOYFRIEND IS DEAD! HE HAS NO PULSE! HE IS NOR BREATHING--"

"You were saying?" A weak voice said.

I turned to see Percy, eyes open, alive.

"Percy! You were dead! Your chest wasn't moving, you had no pulse--"

"I'm a god, Kya."

"A GOD?!" The campers shrieked.

"King of the Gods," Annabeth corrected.

"What? What about Zeus?"

"They gave us the godhood and they rule beside us. Percy here is the god of the sea, tides, waves, sword fighting and loyalty."

Percy gave us a weak nod before his eyes rolled into the back of his head and he was out cold.

"Well, that explains why he can die and come back," I muttered as Jason swung Percy's body over his shoulder. His unconscious face was turned in my direction as if to tell me, 'you did this to me'.

"It wasn't your fault, Kya."

Katie was walking next to me.

"Am I your half-sister?"

"Yes, you are. Welcome to the pack, sister."

Percy was on a cot in the infirmary, then he opened his eyes, drinking a weird liquid. I touched my neck and winced. That's where the Minotaur had squeezed.

"Here, drink some of this."

Katie held out a goblet of something.

"What is it?"

"Try it."

I took a sip. It tasted amazing.

"What is this stuff? It's good!"

"Nectar of the gods."

"Can I have more?"

"No, mortals like you are only allowed to have a little, before you burn up and die. It is godly food, so you need to be careful that you don't drink too much."

I looked over to Percy, who was drinking way more than me. Katie seemed to notice me, as she simply laid a hand on my shoulder.

"He is a god, he can eat as much as he likes."

I nodded.

"You can go to school, as it is safe for demigods, but you have us as friends."

I thought about Shirley and her disgusting attitude. I'd much rather prefer these people. Especially since Percy saved my life. I walked over to Percy, who gave me a lopsided grin.

"Hey, Kya! How are you?"

"The more important question is how are you."

"I'm fine. I've healed already."

"WHAT?!"

"Yeah, I'm a god, and Will came to help me."

"Oh."

"I'll hang out with you. I'd love to have friends like you."

They welcomed me and hugged me tightly. I finally felt like I had a home with them. They were my new friends.
