Shirley's POV:
The moment I saw the invitations in the school, I ran to check it out. It was the Halloween Party. Yes! I ran to my drawer when I got home in a desperate search for money. I found 50 dollars. I hurriedly ran to the mall. I had to outdo Annabeth! This was my chance. I found a yellow dress. I was going to be in the sun. It was 20 dollars and the heels were 10. I bought it and a plastic crown which cost me five dollars. The eyeshadow cost me another five, then I got out of the store. I was going to win Percy for sure.
I looked great. I tried putting on eyeshadow. Close enough. I batted my eyelashes and ran to Percy's mansion. Wow. I wonder what job his parents have.
I knocked. Percy answered the door.
"Hey, Percy! Whoa! Who bought the house?"
I felt dumb. Of course, his parents bought the house.
"I did."
Okay... maybe not.
"WHAT?!"
"Yeah. Come on in."
Percy looked so hot in that costume. He was the sea. The moment I looked at Annabeth, my dreams were crushed. She looked stunning.
"Hey, Annabeth, who made this for you?"
"Percy."
"How much money?"
"1000 dollars."
"WHAT?!"
"Percy, I never knew you were a rich kid."
"Actually, that was the full price, though Annabeth's cost 200 dollars. I had it custom made."
My jaw dropped to the floor. I looked at Kya, who was sipping some red punch.
"Who bought your clothes?"
"Percy."
My blood boiled with jealousy.
"What?"
"Percy bought me this pumpkin dress."
I smiled and walked outside and into the bathroom before emitting a scream into a towel. I sighed and decided this was my revenge. I looked to see... this was Annabeth's bathroom. I felt sneaky. I poured fake blood into her bathtub, then put a fake pillow Percy in there. Don't ask me how it got in there. I didn't want Percy to get in trouble, so I left a note on the bloody mirror.
Hello, Annabeth,
I did this. Hint: It was not Percy.
-Unknown
I snickered and silently left the door.
Annabeth walked into the bathroom and screamed. I crept over and looked. She was on the floor in a tight ball, shivering... why? I quickly snapped out of it and dove into the laundry basket to hide. Percy walked in and turned red with rage.
"Annabeth..."
Annabeth woke up with a start and leaped into Percy's arms.
"Sh, Wise Girl, it's okay, we made it out. They can't hurt us anymore. It'll be okay..."
What? Were they abused or something?
"I flashed back to a moment... you were in the cave in a pool of blood..."
"It's over now. That happened, but Bob fixed me. It'll be okay. I'm alive. We made it out..."
Annabeth stopped crying and I was outraged that her makeup was not ruined. She kissed Percy. They were making out on the floor. I silently growled and pointed my middle finger at her. When they were out, I climbed back onto the floor, before coming out. I saw other people coming. I partied, ignoring the popular girls and their insults in my costume. There were so many devils that I couldn't keep track of where each person was. I saw Annabeth and Percy. I growled in rage. Patrick came, dressed as a clover. He smiled at me and walked over. I saw other girls flirting with Percy, and he just shrugged them off like he didn't care.
