I sat in the lounge watching Chloe. She had made two more girls go home after telling them they had no chance compared to her. I kept my thoughts to myself, making sure that she didn't know how much time I had started spending with Easton.

I had been avoiding Easton since he found out about August. The way he left me the other night was making me nervous. What if he no longer wanted to be with me? What if he sent me home? I was starting to enjoy the palace.

I wondered if Easton had given up and was going to let King Clarkson keep controlling him. I started picturing the scars on Easton's back. It was nothing I had ever seen before. I thought that was going to be enough motivation to keep him angry. It was hard enough for me to think of how much pain Easton had been through, and I wanted to help.

I was in the lounge until lunch. I sat by Farley and we started talking.

"Chloe tried to get me to leave, She said. I wasn't surprised. I put one of my hands on her shoulder.

"You didn't give in did you?" Farley was the only friend I had left here. I had gotten to know her very well.

"God no. I told her to go manipulate someone else." Farley lifted her head, feeling proud of herself.

"I knew you would." I laughed. Farley was great at standing up for herself when she needed to.

The royal family did not join us for lunch, which was fine with me. I didn't know how I was supposed to talk to Easton normally without either of us thinking about August. It was nice to forget about August sometimes. I could still feel myself getting angry when I think about how he hadn't told me he was a rebel. I just wish Easton could see that I was over August.

I went back up to my room after lunch instead of going to the lounge. When I got there, Easton was there waiting for me. I slowly walked closer to him, wondering how long he had been waiting for me. My stomach tightened.

"You ready?" He asked in a monotone voice. I tilted my head.

"They are waiting for us." I knew who he was talking about almost instantly. We walked quietly and didn't bring up August.

We walked to the small meeting room and sat across from them.

"Is everything ready?" Easton asked. Ellie and August both nodded their heads.

"What did I miss?" I cut in. All three of them looked over to me. Easton opened his mouth to speak, but August was faster.

"We are attacking tonight." I looked around at them

"Why am I just hearing about this? Were there more meetings I was not at?" No one spoke. I felt anger rising in me.

"Why was I not at those meetings?" I said, my voice rising.

"We didn't need you there," Ellie spoke up.

"They were short," August added.

"But they seemed important." I was yelling. Easton put a finger over hs mouth telling me to be quieter.

"I'm sorry," Easton said. They continued talking before I was able to argue anymore.

"My mother will be in the lounge with the rest of the girls." Easton started.

"I will be disguised as an officer and burst into the lounge and tell them there is an attack." August continued.

"August will sneak you out and take you to where Easton and I will be," Ellie added. It seemed relatively easy, I just hoped it was going to work.

"Why am I going to be there?" I asked. "It's clear I am not needed as much as I thought," Easton shook his head and moved on.

"What about Farley?" I had so many questions. "She is going to know something is wrong when I am not in the chamber." Everyone was quiet. I could tell they had not thought about that.

"Do what you can." Ellie finally said.

I was told a few extra details for the evening. Easton went to get August an officers uniform to change into.

Ellie and I were left alone in the meeting room waiting for them to come back. We didn't talk much. I stared at my feet on the ground until Easton was back.

"Where's August?" I asked.

"He is outside the lounge," Easton said.

It was hard to believe we were ready. It felt like there was more we had to discuss. Easton was going to bring me to the lounge, and Ellie was going to get the rest of the rebels into position.

"Why weren't you honest with me?" Easton asked as we walked to the lounge.

"I don't know. I guess I was scared," I said softly. "I didn't want to ruin this,"

"Where you with him while with me?" Easton asked. I stayed quiet knowing my silence would be enough to answer his question.

"I'm sorry, what else do you want from me," I complained. It was in the past, there was nothing I could do now.

"I don't know, I guess I am just jealous and angry you didn't feel you could trust me,"

I looked in his eyes. "You don't have to worry anymore," I said.

We reached the doors for the lounge and August was standing guard.

"Everything ready?" August asked in a low voice. Easton nodded, then turned to me. He pulled me close to him hugging me tightly.

"I'm sorry," Easton whispered into my ear.

"Me too," I said back.

I took a deep breath before finding Farley. I still had no idea how I was going to get away from her during the attack. I saw her with the rest of the girls sitting in a circle around Queen Evelyn.

"She is here to learn more about us," Farley said excitedly. I looked over at the Queen making small talk with a few of the girls. She had no idea what was coming, and I wanted to apologize.

The girls were talking with the Queen about some of the boys at home. Chloe bragged about having so many guys asking her out she didn't have enough hours in a day to go out with all of them. I rolled my eyes and hoped no one saw.

I stayed quiet not wanting to be a part of the conversation. I kept glancing at the door waiting for August to burst in. I wondered how he had gotten permission to come into the lounge.

My heart started beating faster as the time passed. My breathing was becoming faster and I could feel myself starting to sweat.

I heard the door open and August ran over to us.

"Your majesty." He bowed his head quickly and made sure we all could hear his announcement. "There is an attack, and Prince Easton was taken." Queen Evelyn gasped and put a hand over her mouth. Another officer walked in and was going to take Queen Evelyn to where Easton was being held.

The rest of us stood up and started walking out of the lounge. I didn't follow and Farley stood there waiting for me.

"I will catch up, go without me," I said. Farley hesitated, ready to argue with me.

"I'm sorry," I added and hugged Farley. She still looked confused but she turned and followed the crowd of girls.

I turned and faced August, who was ready to take me. We gave each other a small nod and we started walking quickly.
