wrong turn, wrong turn
stupid phone battery and stupid confusing big ass streets.
yes, i knew this was the wrong turn, the street was somewhat narrow and it just gave out a different air; poor, mysterious, dangerous. even though i was scared out of my pants, i kept walking forward because i was too afraid to look back.
yeah, that wasn't a very smart movement as a quatro of hazardous looking men halted me. I slightly moved my left foot backwards, getting ready to flee away, and that's when one of the four men spoke.
"going anywhere, honey?" his voice was far from being sweet and affectionate. i gulped when he walked to me. he pulled his jacket aside to reveal a silver shiny weapon. "do you want my money? just take it and leave me alone. i'm not going to say anything to the police."
"phew, thank you for telling me, i was shaking with fear." he spoke and everyone laughed. he raised his hand and curled a strand of my hair around his fingers. "now, give me your bag, before i need to do something i don't want to." i nodded ever so slightly that it didn't even seem like a nod, and passed my bag to him. "your watch too. oh, and that phone." he pointed at my pocket.
"fuck you" i muttered under my breath and suddenly there was silence which only meant one thing; i was screwed.
"excuse me? who the fuck do you think you are?" the man said offended and without hesitation he punched my cheek and stepped back. "guys, she's all yours." he said and left me with a revengeful smile as the other three approached me. i took a deep breath, wrapped my hands around myself and prepared for what was going to happen.
"bitch, you were asking for it, weren't you?" one of them told me as he pushed me on the wet ground and kneeled beside me. he immediately reached for my shirt and ripped it all the way down the front. instictively, my hands shoot up to cover my almost bare chest and i screamed.
"get away from me. help! somebody help me!" i yelled at the top of my lungs, wishing that a passer-by would hear me. the man covered my mouth with his hand and got the other two men to pull my pants off. i continued screaming for help, but his filthy hand didn't allow my voice to come out.
"what the hell is going on here?" a distant voice spoke. quick steps made their way towards me. "leave the girl alone, you suckers." he said and when they didn't move, i heard a gunshot. a body fell with a thump on the ground and i was so scared to move or even look that i curled myself in a ball and hoped i didn't die. "get the hell out of here before you're laying on the ground like him." the stranger was standing right above me and as he crouched down, he touched my forearm, but i violently flinched away and cried louder. "i'm not going to hurt you." he assured me in a whisper. "they left. it's okay now."
i sniffed and hugged my body even tighter, being ashamed of lying on the wet ground half naked, as i turned my head to face the one who saved me.
"michael?" i pronounced breathlessly and watched his eyes widen in shock.
