~Prologue~
It was chilly outside, typical London weather. The wind picked up as I pulled my coat tighter around me as I walked to father and my townhome.
It was a lovely spacious home, but it was often empty due to the fact that my father's not home a lot. One thing I liked about it was it's bright red door. I remember my father and I painting the plain white door that colour on the rare days he was home.
My father, you see, is a special agent for the British Secret Service. He's away often on top secret missions. He always manages to get himself in sticky situations, but gets out in good time.
I walked up to our door, and carefully opened it to the usual, a silent home. I closed the door behind me, and I locked all of the locks. My father, so protective of my security, once pulled out a rather unusual collection of bolts and locks and started screwing them on the door.
I peeled off my coat and unwrapped my scarf from my tiny body. Jesus christ, it was freezing in the house. I never knew where the heater was, so in the wintertime I often light up the fireplace and make myself a nice cup of tea. Which was my plan right now.
I walked over to the massive stone fireplace, and I started lighting up the wood, burning the tip of my fingers as usual. Finally the flames are dancing merrily in the pit. Warmth slowly bleeds into the quiet house.
Just as I was about to heat up some water in the kettle, a knocking on the door startles me. I wasn't expecting any visitors, so this matter was quite alien to me.
I walk up to my door, and I glance through the peephole. I recognized these people. They are other agents from where father works. I open the door to see grim expressions painted across their faces. The female, clears her throat.
But I already knew what they were going to tell me. I had been dreading this moment for as long as I can remember.
My father is dead.
