tw: suicidal thoughts

The whole world stopped as one sound and one sound only could be heard.

It was the booming sound of cracking bones followed by an earsplitting scream.

"B-bakugo?"

...

"Shit hair?" Katsuki called from the gurney, staring at the boy who just walked through the sliding door, "The hell are you doing here?" Instead of answering, Eijiro looked at him with a huge shark toothed smile. It wasn't hard to tell that he was obviously faking it. It was either that, or he was trying to comfort himself with a smile.

"H-hey Kats. How's recovery girl's mini hospital?" Eijiro held back tears as he saw his best friend wrapped up in bandages, legs suspended in the air. He kept smiling, but the pity was as clear in his eyes as his smile was fake. Not to mention sorrow radiated off of him.

"Don't fuckin' patronize me," Katsuki growled. Eijiro looked down at the ground, knowing that he was taking up Katsuki's time. "What do you want?" Katsuki spat out.

"I-i'm sorry. I j-just wanted to check on you." Katsuki sighed, his voice already feeling hoarse. Eijiro mentally refused to get any closer than six feet  from Katsuki. He wanted his friend to know that he could leave if he was being a burden.

"Just come closer idiot. Why the hell are you so far away?" Eijiro's ears perked up at Katsuki's comment, forming eye contact with the blond once again. Eijiro nodded and obliged, walking on the cold tile, inching closer to the bedridden blond.

"H-how are you doing Bakugo?" Eijiro stuttered and his voice cracked, but Katsuki didn't mention it. Instead he just nodded. Not really a sufficient answer, but Eijiro knew that he was okay. Or, as okay as you could be in a hospital. "Look," his tone of voice brought down the mood, lower than it had been. He shuddered at the palpable tension but continued, "You were really reckless there. And you got hurt 'cause of it."

"If you're trying to lecture me about how I was a reckless idiot, then leave. Aizawa already went over that bullshit," he said with a prominent scowl on his face. He was glaring at the wall in front of him, obviously remembering a heated discussion between him and the walking eye bags of a teacher.

He doesn't want you here. He doesn't want you here. You're wasting his time. You need to leave. You need to get out. Leave him alone. He doesn't want you here.

"O-oh, well then I-I can leave." Eijiro pointed towards the door and slowly backed up, walking backwards towards the exit. "S-sorry for wasting your time!" He spat out with a quick bow. As he bowed he slammed his head against the bars of the gurney, creating a bright red mark that was rapidly increasing in size. He winced in pain as he stepped back, cradling his head. He tried to ease the pain by rubbing against his temple. "Ow, ow,ow, ow, ow, ow, ow..." he mumbled through the pain.

"Careful idiot," Katsuki called, reaching his arms out, "You're rubbing too hard." Eijiro walked closer to Katsuki, welcoming the boy's touch. Katsuki rubbed his thumb against Eijiro's forehead, soothing the pain. Eijiro tried all he could to not lean into Katsuki's warm touch. He didn't want to make it awkward. Eventually, they did both pull away.
