Chapter Three

Ok so this chapter might be a bit creepy for some of you. I don't think it should be a problem but I thought I'd just mention it. If you decide not to read it basically what happens is, Shelphine has a super realistic nightmare about some of her greatest fears. Then towards the end she is approached by a human-like creature watching her. Then she wakes up. Ok that's it.

Also all credit of this chapter goes to my friend. I suck with writing creepy scenes and he is great at it. I really didn't do anything except tweak it a bit, and a little on at the end. Thanks Mammy (inside joke) if you're reading this! Anyways let's get back to the story.

I drift off to sleep as soon as I laid in bed. My fears turned into reality as the first thing I see after closing my eyes is being transported to a heavily forested land. The sound of hissing snakes rings through the forest and fills my soul with terror. Panicking, I blindly ran through the forest, night time having cast it into darkness. I did not run for long when a scaley body trips me. I land with a loud thump which attracts a swarm of hungry snakes. All I can do is scream out of primal terror as they close in.

The snake that originally tripped me is the first to reach me. It wraps its slender body around my own. I thrashed around attempting to escape its grasp. All I'm met with is the snake coiling tighter around me. I feel my breathing slow down and become heavy from the lack of oxygen entering into my lungs. My vision becomes black and blurry until I feel myself hit something. My vision clears up and I see the snake has dropped me onto the ground.

"You didn't think I would let you die without having some fun did you?" I hear a voice say. At once the snakes disappear. I look over my shoulder to see a creature. No, human? I can't tell. It's skin is pitch black and it has the shape of a human. It's fingers have long claws that are deep crimson. It has horns on its head, much like a ram. They quickly fade from black to crimson. It has bat wings, but you could see bones covering most of the wings, like an exoskeleton. It has a slimy looking tail, that branches off into four thinner ones. The tips of each fade into the crimson color, and look extremely sharp. Finally, it's eyes are all neon purple. No pupils, no irises.

I scream at the sight of the thing. I try to stand up, but before I can I feel something hold me down. I look down to see a large snake. They're back! I attempt to get free from it's scaley grasp, but can't. Another smaller snake approaches me. Lightning fast, it sinks it's fangs into my neck. Almost instantly, I feel like my insides are melting. I cry out in pain. I watch as my skin starts to melt away as well. I suddenly feel myself fading away. I hear the humanoid creature laugh maniacally.
