Why do you want to be a hero, even when you're quirkless?

Chapter 5 - Super Power

Yosuke's POV:

  "Let's do this" Izuku looks at me with a strong desire to fulfil the same dreams everyone told him was impossible. This child has been through so much that nobody should ever have to deal with.

  When I first rescued him, I could see a fraile boy that would collapse under a slight breeze. After looking through his hero notebooks, my curiosity got the better of me I know, I actually saw who he really was. A fanboy that has incredible strength, anyone who dealt with all of that bullying and physical harm, he's built up a strong sense of justice and kindness towards everyone. How do I know this, it's all been written in his notebook.

  I'm not gonna lie, I do believe quirkless people can become heroes but I wasn't sold on Izuku becoming a hero. At least not the way he is now, he's had no fight training, no self defence training and no physical training of any kind. It would take him about 6 years of constant working out and self defence classes to be at the level of a pro hero. And I have 10 months at the most to train Izuku to be at the level of a UA student, someone who's had years of quirk training and development, someone who has years of hard work that you can see their results.

  "I won't lie Izuku, it's going to be tough, it's going to be a lot of gruelling, back breaking work. But if you follow my schedule, you'll not only keep up with written exams but you'll be at the top of your class in about a year."

  "I know and I'm fully prepared to deal with the pain and fatigue."

  "Alright, let's discuss the route you want to take for your training"

  After a long talk about everything; Izuku will be training for a strength enhancement quirk that I like to call 'Super Power'. It amplifies his strength and speed within his whole body or he can release huge bursts of power at the cost of breaking his bones. What makes this quirk unique is it never stops growing, it'll grow along with his own body. So theoretically, in three years he could have the same physical power as Death Arms and in ten years he could surpass All Might's physical power. Of course this depends on how Izuku trains his body and mind, if there's no growth in his own strength without the use of his quirk, then Super Power will remain stagnant until he gets stronger.

  We agreed that everyday after school he would come to the beach to clean up the trash or face one of us in combat. And Saturdays he would spend the entire day cleaning, with breaks for food and sleeping. I would never push Izuku past his limits, at least not yet. That's for when he has his quirk and he needs to have incredible control, it is trickier to use than most would think. Sundays would be his day off training, studying for tests and using some small workout equipment. It's important to take care of your body when you're trying to build up muscle mass, having a proper diet and one day to take things easier is important.

As far as combat training, Neko is training Izuku's legwork and speed. Since Neko's fighting style uses his legs a lot, it only makes sense that he teaches any recruits how to build up their speed and stamina. Orchard on the other hand, is teaching Izuku self defence techniques so in the event of hand to hand combat, Izuku should be able to put up a decent fight. Izuku is really passionate about becoming a hero so if he doesn't make it to the hero course, it won't be from lack of effort.

As for me, I am teaching Izuku different martial arts and how to use a strength enhancing quirk. He has yet to receive this since his body isn't suitable at the moment but if he can witness my strength quirk, he can use Super Power without the harsh drawbacks occurring every time he uses it.

"Is this your quirk?" Izuku asks we sit down in a local cafe, we were just having a break and getting to know each other more. Not as a date, trust me he's not my type, but as a friendly conversation.

"If you're asking me about whether or not this is my natural born quirk, the answer is no. But I consider this my quirk as I've made it my own so it is my quirk" my natural quirk isn't a weak quirk but it is dangerous without intense control and concentration, that's why I don't use it as much.

"If you don't mind me asking, what's your born quirk?" All members know my quirks but the secret behind my techniques and strength is something only a handful know and they're the ones I have learned to trust completely. Not that I don't trust the other members but I have built up a lot of walls that I'm trying to bring down. Even though I'm a vigilante, I would like to lead a normal life and have normal conversations with friends and family.

"It's called 'Thread Weave' and it allows me to create sharp threads that I can control on the tips of my fingers. Why were you asking?" It is a mystery, online forums and articles still speculate my quirk and some have even questioned about whether or not I have a quirk. I like keeping that mystery alive, it's fun to watch and read all of these conspiracies.

"I was just curious as I remember, during the sludge villain incident, I was dragged out by what seemed like invisible hands. And I originally thought it was some type of telekinetic quirk considering what happened at the end of it" I used my threads to drag Katsuki Bakugo and Izuku away form the billain whilst I used my sword to release Bakugo from the villain's grasp.

"I see, have you told anyone else about this situation?"

"No, Kacchan obviously knows and offered to help me with training. My mother knows that I'm cleaning the beach but doesn't know about E.Q.U.A.L." Understandable, if he told his mother he was training with a vigilante, she would freak out and probably try to scalp me. And I like my hair, it's no El Debarge mullet but I think it looks good.

"Okay, shall we continue with training?" I get up, ready to leave and get back to the beach so we can continue.

"Sure, let's do it"
