Izuku's POV:
"HELLO LITTLE LISTENERS, ARE YOU READY TO GET STARTED?!" Dry reception, nobody even bothers to answer Present Mic. Yosuke always told me to show more personality instead of being the same scared little boy I've always been. So I throw Present Mic a bone "YEAH!" Instantly, everyone's eyes are laser focused on me and me alone. Over these past 10 months, I've discovered several things about me: I'm gay, I'm a big gamer and I actually like wearing women's clothes. Not transgender but I'm much more secure in my masculinity so I can wear 'strange' clothes without feeling awkward. What's awkward is when people stare at me and my ass.
"As you can see on the board, there are three villain robots that offer points, signified by a number on its armour plating. The bigger the points, the tougher it'll be to face. The goal is to destroy as many villain bots as you can within 10 minutes" so it's like a video game, where the tougher monsters and villains will be worth more to destroy. You'll have to factor in the location and number of enemies to face too. But this can't...
"Excuse me sir, I have a question" I'm brought out of my stupor by a blue haired, stiff individual. I also realise that I was muttering every word that came out of my mouth. I guess I could never get rid of that dumb habit but it has helped me out in a pinch. Even during training, when I faced Neko and Orchard, my mind had to run a mile a minute in order for me to keep up. I haven't beaten them in a fight but I think I out up a decent battle.
"YES LITTLE LISTENER?"
"Tenya Iida from Somei Junior High, you stated that there are three villain bots but on this sheet, there are four robots listed. If this is a mistake on an official U.A school form, this is an embarrassment. And you, the green haired boy muttering" oh god, I figured he's try to call me out but I thought he'd pull me to the side. I never expected him to try and embarrass me in front of, these extras, as Kacchan would say "Your constant talking is incredibly distracting, if you are not going to focus in this exam, I recommend you leave at once"
"Just take the stick out your ass and shut up four eyes. Cockatiel was probably going to explain everything before you started to bitch about everything you don't like" every since the sludge villain incident, Kacchan has been fiercely protective of me. I don't know what I did to deserve someone so kind yet so angry in my life. I'm not surprised he did this but I am kind of flustered he would speak up for me so quickly.
"Kacchan, calm down" and after a long awkward pause, Present Mic speaks up.
"Anyways, there are three robots that give out points for their destruction. The last one is worth zero points, it's basically an arena trap, an obstacle for you to avoid"
"Thank you for the explanation" and then our written exam begins. Me and Kacchan finish roughly the same time as each other, me finishing a couple minutes before him but everyone being halfway finished with their paper. I notice that the blue haired guy is still finishing his paper. So I feel a sense of pride when he looks at me in shock.
Me and Kacchan just lay our heads on our desk and I get a good look at Kacchan's sleeping face. He looks so peaceful and so, so... beautiful? I don't want to ruin our friendship but he really does look beautiful right now, I think I might have a slight crush on my childhood friend, turned bully, turned friend. As the alarm sounds, telling everyone that the exam is finished, Kacchan jolts awake and I try my best to hide my blush whilst we leave the exam hall.
"Good luck Kacchan" I wish the very best, even though I know he'll pass, I just want him to know how much it would mean for both of us to get in UA together. Before he would've gotten mad, thinking that I was looking down on him. But now, we've talked it out and I think he now understands that when I say something like that or when I offer help to him, I just care about him and I want to help if he wants it.
"You better pass you damn nerd" we leave for our different exam zones, they must've split the schools up best they could so nobody would team up and have an unfair advantage. As I scout the competition, I see support items, I see all sorts of body sizes and shaped. And I spot the same brunette who helped me out earlier looking rather tense and I can almost see her heart beating out of her chest. I attempt to go over and give her some reassurance but a familiar blue haired stiff grabs my shoulder.
"Are you planning on making the girl flustered? If you are not going to take this exam seriously, you may as well leave." Does he honestly think I'm here just to mess around, he really has high standards of what students should be.
"Are you going to just ride my ass the entire time or are YOU going to focus on the exam?" I've had enough of people criticising me and discriminating against me, I'm not just gonna sit like a little lamb and watch someone tear me to shreds because they feel entitled to share their opinion. "I was going to thank her for earlier and try to reassure but you seem to like criticising every little detail you don't like" as I was going to continue my little tirade, an obnoxiously loud voice screeches out.
"AAAANNDD START" I just bolt "You don't get a countdown in real life, you should always be prepared like the green head" thank you Present Mic for understanding me more than these other examinees seem to. First impressions are important and the most important people are the teachers, so I feel happy that at least someone is seemingly impressed. I power up my quirk as I dash, destroying three villain bots, a one-pointer and 2 two-pointers. This exam will go on for 10 minutes and so I feel confident that I can rack up plenty of points until the end. As I casually skip along, using my quirk for speed, I count my score as 43 at the 6 minute mark. I've destroyed 7 three-pointers, 8 two-pointers and 6 one-pointers.
Just then, I see a violet haired boy cowering in fear as a three-pointer chases after him. I quickly dispose of the robot, bringing me up to 46 and I make sure he's all right. He doesn't seem to have many points, probably a mental quirk that he uses. This test doesn't seem to be that rational in the exams, people with mental quirks like eraserhead would easily fail the practical. A strange rumbling echoes throughout the faux city and a hulking beast of metal lurks over our heads but whilst everyone runs in fear, a small squeak, faint but loud enough to hear, comes from the same girl who was nice to me."Is he crazy?" "What is he doing?" "He's too reckless" that's all I hear when I'm jumping to save her, I just realise in my moment of judgement, I broke both my legs with my jump. DAMN IT! I lost control again but the only thing on my mind right now is saving that girl. I ready a full powered attack, Yosuke is going to kill me or resurrect me just so he can kill me again but I don't care. A powerful shockwave bursts from my arm as I obliterate that robot.
Oh shit, I'm going to split open my head! And whilst I brace for impact on my skull, I feel a sharp slap on my cheek and suddenly I'm hovering over the ground.
