A Thought

By  whyaretheyalltaken11

In a small apartment in the middle of town,
A man looks out his window.
He regards his wrinkled hands with a frown,
And his mind is moving slow.

He thinks back to times when the going was easy,
And he could walk without a cane.
When taking a stroll or cleaning the house,
Never caused him any pain.

His mind full of anger at all his lost talents,
He paces the room.
He will not die in defeat and tolerance,
Or a simple man's tomb.

But slowly his fury turns to sadness,
Recalling his youth.
When he was happy, his heart filled with gladness,
What a wonderful youth.

Childhood memories locked away and forgotten,
Happy times and sad.
Playing with friends and enjoying weekends,
Just a little lad.

A smile slowly creeps up the old man's face,
A thought in his mind.
He'd lived a good life full of joy and grace,
He was ready to die.

This poem is really beautful and is by whyaretheyalltaken11. I suggest going to check out their account since they let me use their wonderful poem in this book.

This is really pretty and I love the simple, yet really deep descriptions. I think this means a lot of things, but I will let you find the meaning for yourself.
