As Terry’s debilitated body was carried out of the premises of the “Ox and the Axe” pub, Peter and his colleagues stepped outside with their glasses to get some fresh air.

The sun began to recede in to the horizon, giving an almighty glare off the windows belonging to the skyscrapers in the vicinity.  The front of the pub over looked the small river, whose beauty was magnified by the sunset.

Peter’s capers within the pub had drawn him some new fans. Two of them had followed Peter, John and Mary outside.

“Ah, ya know Peter, they be some badman moves ya pull in there” Mary said grinning exuberantly. “Ya really show that fat bambaclat where to go”

Peter grinned back. He stood casually, leaning back on the railings that formed a barrier against the river.

“Let’s hope he’s too pissed to remember what happened today. The man knows how to hold a grudge” John said, speaking with experience of his friend’s stubborn nature.

“It down’t matter, I make sure the fool remember evryting in little detail, ya get me?” Mary said with a hint of defensiveness.

“Now now, Mary” John said laughing.

“Hey, wait a minute” interrupted a squeaky male voice belonging to one of the two people who followed them outside “Aren’t you the guy who got turned in to a janitor by Vincent Lockhead?” What the hell are you doing in a suit?”

Peter and his colleagues looked startled.

“And you are?” Peter’s boss retorted on his behalf.

“I’m sorry for interrupting, but I couldn’t help but notice Peter here was the guy who got literally torn apart by his uncle slash boss on the day we started”. speaking was a spectacled Chinese fellow with an imperfect English accent. He wore a black suit, white shirt and black tie and had a slim build. “He said Peter would have to be a janitor and then we were told to leave the room while those two had a showdown. So what happened after that Peter? Did you beg to get your job back?”

Peter looked at him, trying to gauge his intent. He tilted his head slightly to the left and peered deep in to his soul.

“Something like that” Peter said somewhat untrusting.

“Cool” the Chinese fellow replied, looking slightly bemused at Peter’s reticent response.

Peter continued to drown him with a disturbing stare, which caused the lad to back down. He looked at his freckled friend standing next to him and indicated they should go back inside with a quick nod of his head.

John and Mary glanced at each other curiously before turning their sights back to Peter.

“What was all that about Peter?” John asked.

“Nothing” Peter said blankly before returning to his alcohol.
