Jenna’s PoV:

I decided to change something today and see if Liam would even notice. I went to the store and bought purple hair dye. Obviously I am not going to dye my whole head purple but I decide to dye a few strands. When Liam came home after work he didn’t say anything. He didn’t even notice. I even flipped my hair and lashed it around like an idiot and he didn’t even notice. The next day I  had lunch with Ash. I threw my hair up in a bun because to be honest I didn’t really care. It was weird. I have only known Ash for around a month now but I feel so comfortable around him. I walked into the restaurant and Ash waved me over. He stood up and held my chair out for me and then pushed it in when I sat down. ‘Oh he is so sweet’ I say to myself in my head.

“Thank you” I say as he sits across from me.

“Something is different” He says concentrating on me. “Don’t tell me. I will get it” He continues staring. “Your hair, you dyed it a little purple” He noticed.

“Yeah I did” I say shocked. He noticed? You can barely see the strands when my hair is up.

“I like it but why did you decide to change it?” He asks.

“Just decided I would try something different. My boyfriend didn’t notice, I am surprised you did”

“Changing the color of your hair is pretty noticeable.” He says. “Purple is a good color on you, it really makes you good.” I look down and blush a little, and then think about Liam.  It has been a long time since he has made me blush. And there is something wrong with the fact that Ash noticed my hair but Liam did not.  I don’t know how to feel about it.

“Thank you” I say, looking up at Ash. After lunch is over Ash and I decide to make plans for next week and then we both go home.  I walk through the door and see Liam sitting on the sofa watching telly.

“Hey, love, where have you been?”

“Out to lunch.”

“With who?”

“Oh, just Ash,” I say, setting my keys down and taking off my shoes.

“Oh, Ashley? That girl you’ve been hanging around recently?” He questions.  I pause, a little confused.  He looks up and sees my expression.  “What?”

“Ash is a guy.”

“What!?” He says, getting up from the couch.

“Yeah, he’s Emmy’s boyfriend’s friend.” I say, continuing to take off my jumper.

“I didn’t know that.  Why didn’t you tell me he was a bloke?”

“You didn’t ask.  I didn’t really think about it either.”

“You didn’t think that I would want to know that my

was hanging out with another guy?”

“Well, I mean, I guess I can see where you’re coming from, hun, but really he is just a friend.” I reply, trying to calm him down.

“Oh, just a friend? That’s what they all say!” he shouts.

“Liam, just stop it, okay!” I say, walking down the hall towards the bedroom.  I can hear his footsteps behind me.  Suddenly he grabs my wrist and I spin and face him.

“I don’t want you seeing this ‘Ashley’ anymore okay?” He says sternly.  Then he leans in close to me,  “You’re mine and I don’t want anyone else to have you.” I look into his eyes for a few seconds before we begin kissing.  He pushes me gently against the wall and we kiss more before making our way to the bedroom.

*One Month Later*

“Oh no!” I shout as Ash kills my character in the video game.

“Sorry Jenna, but you’re gunna have to do better than that if you wanna beat...THE CHAMPION.”

“Calm down Ash,” Dru says, “you’ve only won twice.  I think Jenna’s at five now.”

“Oh, Dru, come on, just let me enjoy my victory.”

“Yeah Dru let poor Ash enjoy his win,” Emmy says. We were all at Stefan’s house again.  I like hanging out here, it’s like a little family.  I get up and go into the kitchen and get something to drink.  Emmy follows me.

“Hey, whatcha doin’?”

“Getting a drink,” I say.

“That’s good.  So how are thing?” She asks.

“What things?”

“Things with you and Ash?”

“I feel kind of bad because of the whole Liam thing, to be honest with you.  He basically forbid me from seeing Ash alone.  So, I haven’t.  I think Ash understands but I don’t think he’s happy about it.  We used to get lunch and stuff and now it’s basically just this.” I say, motioning around the room. “And worst of all,” I say, my head dropping, “is that Liam is kind of right.  I think I have feelings for Ash.  So much that I don’t even want to be around Liam much anymore.” I say, tearing up, “And he is never there anyways.  I feel like we are drifting apart and there’s nothing I can do to stop it.  I love him, but I don’t think I’m in love with him anymore.” Emmy puts her arms around me.

“Honey, if you don’t even want to be around him anymore then you know you should just end it.”  she says.

“I know, but… but I just… can’t.” I say, wiping the tears from my face.
