Objective: Evaluation(To retrieve Artifacts from [REDACTED])
Location:[REDACTED], Ontario, CA
Woke Up Late On a free day. Best sleep I got in a while. It's been More or less about a year since I joined Halcyon, And Every night is Tiring. I thought, Since today Is a free day for me, I should Contact my family and see how they're doing.
First person I contacted was my Younger sister, And Boy was she excited to see me.
"Hey big bro!"
"Heya Kiddo. How's college treating ya?"
"College Fund Is not FUN. Think you can break In a bank and help me pay off my tuition fees, Finn?" She giggled while asking
"Well, No. I told you, Alice, this is my Life. I want you to have a normal life. Mum and Dad-"
"I know, I know. God, you sound like dad. Wish they were actually still around..."
"Look, Alice, I love you. Don't get yourself into trouble. I disappointed Mum and Dad, But you can't."
"And that's saying something. Why couldn't you Appear? Oh yea, Cause you were busy tryna Impress the wrong people that-"
"Don't remind me. Just don't. Look, I gotta go. I'll call you again, Sometime."
"Take care, Finn."
She hung up after that. I knew she was right. But I have regretted It then. And it certainly won't Let me have a good Night's sleep. The nightmare of my parents dying Every night keeps popping up. No way around it, Just gotta sleep through, I thought.
It was almost time for my training. A knock On my door revealed to be Rose. Apparently
I was Up for evaluation.
"Damn, Evaluation already?" I asked
"You'll do fine. C'mon, Wren is supervising" Rose Said.
We went to meet up with Wren. And He was dead serious about not failing my evaluation.
"Don't screw it" He said sternly.
"Relax, Wren, He'll do fine" Rose Assured him. She then looked at me and gave me a wink, as if to say good luck. Moments later, I was Blindfolded and sent to a location. A location that I was unaware of. After Removing my blindfold, I saw my gear bag beside me and a abandoned Looking Building.
"Where exactly am I?" I asked over the intercom.
"Classified." Both Wren and Rose Said.
"Your Evaluation will begin now. Agent Zero, Your task is to infiltrate this building and retrieve four different artifacts. Quietly.
Should You set an Alarm off or cause suspicion to arise, You will fail this Evaluation. Good luck." Said Wren.
I looked through my bag. Inside was a Black suit, Mask, My Pistols, Scrambler, and a silent drill. After gearing up, I Infiltrated the building from the roof. It seemed abandoned from the outside, but it was heavily Guarded on the inside.
"Get In and steal the artifacts." Wren instructed.
Annoyed, I replied. "What if I break the artifacts instead?"
"No." He said
"But what if?" Rose asked Jokingly. She laughed. I fell in love with her even more.
'Focus Summers' I told myself.
"Oh, I forgot to mention, You have a partner with you. Don't get too comfy now. It is still a test. Meet Red-eye." Wren Said.
In came another guy, He had long and shaggy hair, Brownish red in colour.
"C'mon, let's get it done and over with, er.."
"Zero."
"Right. Here's the plan. There's a podium, right? I'd reckon, One of us gives the guests a speech, While the other one sneaks Into the vault and secures the artefacts. How 'bout it?"
"Good Plan, But we gotta disable the systems first. The moment we break in with the systems active, This whole Building will sound off like an ambulance."
"Right. I'll get the code for the vault, You figure out a way to disable the systems. After that, We strike with our plan."
"Got it. Let's Ace this test Red-eye"
We Roamed around silently for a while, Trying to find a way to disable the systems. We stumbled upon a well hidden security office and snuck in. Just our luck, No one was around. I immediately began to hack the system computer, trying to shut down the internal sensors and security systems, While Red-eye looked around for a vault code to disable the case alarms.
"Vault sensors are down. It'll be safe to open up the vault now." Rose said as the sensors and security systems deactivated.
"Found it" Red-eye said.
"We got the code to disable the case alarms." I informed rose.
"Good. Find the keypad and shut them off." She instructed.
We went straight to the vault to enter the code.
"Case alarms are disabled." I said.
"Good. Start getting those artifacts out."
Red-eye and I Started to execute our plan. He would give the long speech and distract everybody while I Would Secure the artifacts.
Red-eye stood at the podium, Giving out the very long speech, Hoping it would be more than enough time to secure the artifacts. I broke Into the vault and saw the artifacts. But.
They were all fakes.
"These are the 'artifacts'?" I asked.
"Told you we should've used real artifacts, Wren."
"You'd probably break them." He replied.
"What's your point?" Rose argued.
"Guys Enough! Whatever, let's just stick with this." I said as I secured the artifacts.
After I had left the vault, Red-eye finished giving his speech. We both Made our escape and Found a spot to relax for a while. Wren came back with our results.
"You Passed the test" Wren informed us both. Red-eye and I let out a sigh of relief. We wouldn't have to go through that for another year.
"That's it. You got them! Good work!" Rose cheered. I blushed slightly.
Upon returning to the headquarters, Red-eye was assigned a mission and I had time to relax.
I decided to get some shut eye. I was dead tired after the 'heist' Wren put me through.
