Maggie covered her head with the pillow on Johns B’s pull out couch. Kie rubbed her eyes viciously, groaning at the noises that were coming form JJ and some tourist girl he brought over.
Maggie couldn't help but cringe at the noises that echoed from the room. “Good Morning Kie, Good Morning Mags.” John B greeted the girls, earning groans from both of them.
Sitting up, Maggie grabbed the beer next to her and took a quick swig of it. “I swear I’d rather listen to heavy metal music till my ears bleed than hear that bed rock one more time.” Kie chuckled at her best friend and cheered her own drink with hers.

Just as fast as the night came, Hurricane Agatha came quicker. Even though Maggie has lived at the Outer Banks for a few years, she never really got over her nerves whenever there was a hurricane or huge storm.
Maggie sat on the pull out couch, her knees pulled up to her chest. Checking the clock, it read '3:38 a.m.' She sighed to herself, the sound of the storm keeping her from sleeping.
The floorboard creaked from the other side of the living room, her head snapping up to see JJ looking at her concerned. "Can't sleep?" He whispered as he walked over, plopping himself down next to her.
"Nope," she sighed, "sometimes it's so easy to fall asleep during these storms, sometimes I can't sleep at all."
JJ laid down, his arms open for her to join in. She slid down next to him, his arm under her head as his hand softly played with her hair.
"I got you, buttercup." Resting her head on his arm, she splayed her hand on his chest, fingers fiddling with his shark tooth necklace.
JJ held her in his arms and within minutes she had fallen asleep. Reaching his free hand up, he brushed the hair out of her face before pressing a soft kiss to her forehead.

Maggie and JJ’s peaceful sleep was interrupted by John B slapping the back of JJ’s leg. “Yo, you guys been outside?”
“I have polio, bro. I can’t walk.” JJ mumbled into the crook of Maggie’s neck. “I would but I have a leech on me.” Maggie smiled as her hand ran up the back of his hair to untangle it.
“Alright princess, you fine if I leave you?” He asked as he slowly pulled away from her.
“Mmh.” Maggie mumbled into the blanket, a small smile etched on her face.
A solid 5 minutes went by before JJ walked back up to the girl, his hands smacking the girls butt causing her to flinch. “Jesus, you scared the hell out of me.” Maggie groaned, “Get changed Mags we’re going fishing.”
Slowly dragging herself out of bed, she faced away from the boy as she found her bathing suit top on the floor. Being fully aware of JJ staring at her, she turned around and lifted her tank top up, revealing her bareback.
JJ’s eyes widened as his breath hitched in his throat. Quickly tying the strings together, she rolled her shirt back down, JJ taking this moment to turn around so she didn’t catch him looking.
Sliding her flip flops on, she helped the boys push the boat into the water. She sat at the tip of the boat letting the wind fly threw her hair as they sped through the waters.
