Part Eight: Something Happened

*ALARM GOES OFF*

I grab my phone and turn off the alarm, why did I even set this stupid thing again?  Oh right, Adore has a photo shoot today. I quickly send Danny a text to see if he is away

*INCOMING TEXT*

Danny: yes I'm awake, packing Adore's stuff. Gonna pick you up in 20.

I take a quick shower, throw on a pair of jeans and a T-shirt and tie my hair in a messy bun. I'm glad things between Danny and I are getting better, I really did miss him.

*HONK HONK*

Danny snapped me out of thought and I quickly ran down to the front door. "Hey" I greet him, "sup girl" he replies as we head to the photo shoot. "I'm so exited for this shoot, I'm happy your here with me" he says, I softly smile and look out the passenger window.  We drive for a while and at a red light I see a billboard for Tampons and then it hit me, when was my period suppose to start? I thought, I unlocked my phone and checked my period tracker  as I waited for the app to start up I looked at Danny real quick hoping he doesn't realize I'm freaking out.

*phone chimes*

I look down at the colorful period tracker.

Your period is: 9 days late

I'm a little freaked out but trying to keep calm, this could mean anything my period isn't alway on time so maybe I'm just under a lot of stress.
"Hey Danny could we stop at Walgreens real quick?" I casually asked, he looks over at me real quick "why? You need tampons or something" he says in a joking voice " um sort of." He looks at me and back at the road, "okay sure".
We drove into the Walgreens parking lot and I half walked half ran into the store and went to the feminine product isle, I grabbed some tampons, a pregnancy test and a bottle of water at the register.

I tap my foot impatiently as the cashier rings up my items " that will be $15.00" I paid for my items and went to the car. "Did you get what you needed?" Asked Danny as we pulled away from the parking lot. "Yeah, I'm good". At the photo shoot Danny becomes Adore and starts taking the pictures, while she was busy I escaped to the bathroom. Okay so the instructions say collect a sample and wait 5 minutes, I can do that.
Time went by real slow, 5 minutes felt like 5 hours, keep it together Elena you're okay, your period is probably about to start; I look at the timer I set on my phone 3 minutes left I took deep breaths to calm my nerves, I'm fine, I'm okay, in a couple of minutes I will find out it's negative and everything will be perfect.

1 minute left

I impatiently waited for that last eternal minute to be over, while I waited I splashed water on my face and continued breathing

*Knock Knock*

I jump up and look at the door "y yes?" I call out "Elena are you alright?, you have been in there for a while now" asked Adore. This is not happening I tell myself  "yeah I'm fine be out soon" I reassured her. 

*phone chimes*

My heart is racing, my mouth is dry, I feel extremely warm, I pick up the test and cover the result window; I take a deep breath and look at the results.

Pregnant 🙂

In that moment everything around me went silent, I couldn't hear the noice from the photo shit, I couldn't hear myself breath, it's like everything froze and the only thing that was conscious was my now panicking brain.  Tears rolled down my eyes and I began to come out of that frozen state, while I tried to calm down and face reality another wave of realization hit me, I have to tell Danny.
