CHEERS TO NEW BEGINNINGS

The next morning,my alarm rang so loud it left my head pounding, I could barely open my eyes maybe it was because of the time I slept. I really don't know just when I am going to adjust to waking up early because through out summer I would wake up by twelve in the afternoon so all this just felt strange. Dragging my feet to the bathroom I realized that it was already seven and I had school by eight. I hate being late to anywhere. I sighed and did everything as fast as I could. I had a slice of toast even though I was very hungry and in need of something better to eat. I grabbed my bag from the couch and checked the time, it was already seven forty and I had to walk to school. My mum will definitely have no buy me a car and I really need to overcome my fear of driving. Few years ago I was involves in a car accident were my hip bones got dislocated and I couldn't walk for months ever since then the trauma of watching a huge truck hit my dad's car hasn't let go of me. I was snapped out of my blank thoughts when I heard a knock at my front door. I was scared to the bones, is my mother back to check if I had gone to school after all she was very capable of that. My parents are literally obsessed with education. I opened to door to see Annika, I was really confused, doesn't she go to school or what? Where does she even live? ''Good morning'' I said in a very unpleasant manner. ''Let's go, we're already late'' she said as she grabbed my hand and started dragging me to the car but I pulled back just so I could lock the down before we leave. We got into the car and she drove away, ''so how did you know i'll be home'' I asked her really wanting to know the answer. ''First of all if you are observant you would know that I live right next to you'' she spoke as if she was getting a trophy for living next to me. That'a a relief at least I do not have to walk to school no more.''So you'll be my driver?'' I asked as we got down from the car, she laughed and we went for our first class which started ten minutes ago. Thankfully we had the same class because I can't imagine walking into a class that has already started and I know no one there. I' ll have to analyze everyone before I seat and I know how much of a weirdo that would make me look like. She grabbed my hand and showed pointed at a seat next to this guy that had oddly beautiful  eyes. I found this strangely exciting so I sat next to him with no questions asked. When I had gotten out my book,pen and my glasses Annika called me because she was sitting by my other side. 

Grace: yeah

Annkia: The guy who you were eyeing seductively is my cousin, the one I had dinner with last night.

Grace: first of all I was not eyeing anyone seductively and who even says that. Secondly what's his name?

She laughed so loud at my question that I wondered if she had something to drink before school today. The teacher who's name I apparently do not know, turned around and gave her a detention slip, she didn't even look bothered, she apologized and behaved like she was actually sorry. I realized that Annika was so free with everyone because yesterday during lunch she literally spoke to everyone on the lunch line. I really hope I will behave like her soon because honestly I like to behave as if I don't care what people think of me but I actually do.

He's hot though, this guy next to me, i'm no longer paying attention to class because of this beauty sitting right beside me. I sound really cheesy and somehow but I don't even know why these thoughts were going through my head. The bell rang soon enough to not get me into trouble with my thoughts and reality. I left the class as fast as possible so Annika won't start teasing me about her cousin, I knew she would do that because I would definetly do that. Any girl that sights this guy, would literally trip. Funny, I was by my locker already and no sign of Annika she was supposed to show me the library because I had a free period. Ugggggggggggg it has been like three minutes and she was not here, who do I know here o my God. I don't even have her number, O Lord, while I was freaking out I didn't notice the guy from first period approaching me till he got here. He was staring right into my eyes like he knew me, like who does that to someone they just met. ''Emmmmm is it normal here to walk up to a complete stranger and do that'' I asked him with a very questioning look that some might refer to as mean. He let out a small laugh ''I'm Micheal and I'm not a total stranger, I'm actually your neighbor in case you haven't noticed and I saw the way you looked at me in class today'' he said with so much humor, I started blushing wait what's wrong with me? ''Okay so firstly how many neighbors do I have that know about me and I on the other hand knows absolutely nothing about them'' I went on like this was normal conversation to be having on the second day of school. ''We're gonna have to talk about all your questions later because i'm already late for class'' he was really smiling at me, what did he want, I am so sure this is all Annika. What is later, what did he ,mean by later are we suddenly friends or what,hmmm all this is the least of my worries because till now no Annika and I didn't know the library so I went to seat at the bench outside.

 My weird day has finally come to an end, I'm so grateful. I waited by the car for Annika she said she needed get a book before we go. I hit the heels of my boots constantly on the floor to buy time, I am a very impatience person on a normal day but right now I think I just got my period and I didn't bring a pad. I was wearing black jeans so its probably not that visible and there's no one behind me. I brought out my phone to text Annika, I got her number during lunch for moments like this. I called her but he wasn't picking then I saw her cousin again which really opened my eyes to see that all this was a set up. She disappeared after first period and when I confronted her she said she really had to go to the restroom.

Micheal: What's up do you need a ride? You seem inpatient.

Grace: No it's fine I'm going with Annika.

Honestly if I wasn't stained already, I would have gone with him but I don't want to seat in his car and then when I leave we'll both feel uncomfortable.

Micheal: You sure? I don't bite (he said with the brightest smile I had ever seen)

Before I could respond my so called friend came with the most annoying s,irk on her face and I looked at her with a playful disgusted expression. Then I waved Micheal goodbye and he blew a kiss to Annika. I actually like their relationship the only cousin I remember been that close to was a baby.

Annika: I see you've met my cousin

Grace: Annika don't start with me I'm stained now drive this car and let's go.

To my surprise she did exactly what I said, I guess she has a really good person inside this playful her.
