the bell rang and i started putting my things away to get to my next class. as i was about to get up i saw someone stand in front of me.

the skater pants and vans gave it away. i looked up and it was finn.

"hi." i said in more of a question than a statement.

"hey," he sighed with a smile.

"can i help you with something?" i stood up, putting my backpack on.

"look im sorry for yesterday, and the day before that. and the month before that." he put his hands in his pockets. "my point is, we started off on the wrong foot."

"okay?" what was he trying to get at? and why was he sorry now?

"and i think, as an apology," he continued. "why dont i take you out somewhere."

"im good." i declined, trying to walk past him. he moved in front of me.

"what, why?" he laughed.

"id rather not." i shrugged nonchalantly. he smiled, nodding and poking his tongue against his cheek.

"you're playing hard to get aren't you?" he smirked.

i laughed.

"sure bud," i patted his arm as i walked past him.

"no, i think you are." he followed after me. i gave him a side eye.

"im not, you're just annoying." i walked faster. he laughed.

"sure bud." he mimicked me. i rolled my eyes and turned to the exit where i met up with millie by the sidewalk.

"he what?" she laughed.

"he thinks im playing hard to get." i repeated.

"well are you?" she accused.

"im not." i giggled. "i told you, he's annoying."

"whatever you say, but since you guys got out of that closet you've been talking about him more." she goaded.

"because he's been more irritating." i said. "it's not even him throwing stuff at me, just the things he says."

"maybe you're subconsciously playing hard to get." she pointed to her head. "and come on, you've got to admit it, he's attractive."

"he's okay." i joked.
