y/n

finn had been trying to talk to me for the rest of the week, walking me to my classes after i told him i didn't want him to.

"that's what you think." he'd say with a smug look on his face.

millie was home sick today so i had to walk home alone, it wasnt my favorite thing to do, i liked having someone to keep me company and talk to.

"hey, y/n." i didnt have to turn around to know who it was. "where's your friend?"

"she didn't come to school." i said dryly.

"you're walking alone?" he asked. i nodded.

"how about i keep you company?" he smiled.

i was about to say something before he could say anything else.

"look, in all seriousness, i feel bad." his goofy smiled turned serious. "i was being kind of a dick-"

"kind of?" i widened my eyes, looking up at him.

"i was being a dick," he corrected himself. "and i want to make it up. take this as an apology. so you dont look like a loner."

"gee thanks." i chuckled.

as we started walking, we talked and i realized that he actually wasn't as bad as i though he was. the guy i was talking to right now was not the same guy i saw in class everyday. he was actually really nice and kind of funny.

"yeah, id definitely want to be a film director," he continued. "or a zoo keeper."

"those are two very different careers." i chuckled.

"i have range." he shrugged. "what do you want to do?"

"id probably want to be a lawyer, something that involves law or government." i shrugged.

"makes sense, ive seen you in history, you put up quite the fight." he laughed. "you always win class debates."

"i come with my facts prepared." i said proudly. he looked down at me. i don't know what it was, but something about the way he smiled made me smile.

"hey, look," he pointed to a 7-11. "come on im thirsty."

he grabbed my hand and ran across the street, dragging me behind him. we dodged cars and got honked at, people yelling at us from their windows.

"finn!" i yelled. he was smiling. the wind pushed his hair back and i could see his face more clearly. his shaggy hair didn't really allow me to see his entire appearance.

he was handsome, pretty even.

we made it to the other side and i felt like i was having a heart attack. we'd almost gotten ran over twice.

"you okay?" he turned to me, a big smile on his face.

"no, you just made me run across a busy street with no crosswalk. you didn't even bother to check for cars." i panted.

"you only live once." he beamed, opening the door for me.

i walked in and went straight for the slurpee machine.

"ew, who drinks blue raspberry." finn scrunched his nose.

"who drinks coke slurpees?" i pointed to his cup.

"the most elite of the elite." he said defensively. we walked over to the snacks and i picked up some sour skittles.

"those literally kill your tastebuds." he critiqued.

we walked over to the front to pay. i was taking some money out of my backpack when i noticed finn had already handed the guy some money.

"my treat." he smiled.

"here." i tried giving him the money to make up for what i got."

"no, keep it, it's fine." he pushed it away.

"i feel bad." i said.

"i don't know a single person that would feel 'bad' after getting a free slurpee." he grabbed my cup and handed it to me.
