"where are we going?" i asked.

"you'll see," he smiled, grabbing my hand and leading me to his car.

we got in and he drove to a gas station. i went into the small store they had and got us some snacks, he told me it would be a long drive.

"finn it's a school night, we can't be out this late." i laid the seat back.

"it's still early." he said.

"it's almost eight."

"i told you, still early," he shrugged, taking a turn.

perfect.

y/n had fallen asleep so she didn't see where we were headed.

i was taking her up to a hill to show her the view of the city. i knew it was cheesy but i always loved coming here and i thought she'd like it too.

i parked my car and woke her up.

"y/n," i lightly shook her arm.

she turned around and looked at me, still half asleep.

"where are we?" she groaned.

"come on." i got out of my car and waited for her. i looked through the window to see that she was still asleep.

i walked around to the passengers side and opened the door.

"y/n," i shook her.

"what?" she opened her eyes.

"you can sleep when you're dead, come on." i grabbed her arm and dragged her out of the car.

once the cold air hit me, i was wide awake. i looked around, it was dark and we were on a small area of grass. i turned to see that we were on a hill.

"what is this?" i turned to finn. he smiled and pulled me closer to him.

"this," he sighed. "is the first date you never let me take you on. and on my favorite hill."

i could see stars and the city's lights. it was so calm and quiet here, i loved it.

"i know you hate it when people buy you things," he started, laying a thick blanket on the ground. "so i thought you'd like it up here, since im not buying you anything. and we can just , you know, talk."

we sat down on the blanket and did just that. talking to him was my favorite thing, every conversation with him was like a play. he'd express every emotion, change his voice and crack jokes. he was a walking tv show.

im not sure how long we were really there for, time seemed to stay still and nothing moved. the sky stayed the same and the city lights stayed on and looked the same as when we got there.

"i know you told me not to be corny, but i just really thought you'd like it up here." he smiled at me. "i know it's a cliche to bring a girl up to a hill at night to see the city."

"it's fine," i giggled. "its actually really nice up here, it's so relaxing."

"the airs more crisp too," he took a deep breath in. "not like down there, where every turn you take someone's puffing out smoke."

we talked for another hour or so and before we know it, it was two in the morning.

"holy shit," i yawned. "we've been here for like five hours."

"didn't feel like it." finn smiled at me.

"you're being real corny, wolfhard." i teased.

"you like it," he leaned in.

"maybe a little." i leaned in and kissed him.
