"Good morning, everyone! We are here for the Grand Sports Festival's Princess Competition! So cool!" Jason, the reporter from the most popular magazine in Fiore, was hosting this event.
Currently waiting at the backstage, I clasped my hands together to at least warm it up because it's been so cold after the opening ceremony. I'm nervous!!! Since I was sheltered all my life, I'm not used to standing in front of many people! Now I realized I have a stage fright!
Damn it, what more if we reached the Q and A segment? I'm afraid I'd collapse on stage! Ah! It's such a relief that there's no talent portion included!
"This will serve as a warm up before the awaited matches! So let's just enjoy ourselves for today! So coool!"
"Are you ready, Lucy?" Mira asked. I shook my head in panic, clenching my fists that couldn't stop from trembling. The feeling of nausea made everything worse...
"I-I'm nervous, Mira-san!" I exclaimed as I felt my sweat rolling down my temple. My heart dropped when she giggled, wiping my temple and the side of my forehead with a tissue.
"Calm down. Just remember all the lessons and reminders you've learned from me," she said, smiling.
I breathed deeply to calm myself. All of the candidates were wearing casual clothes, but later, we'll wear three different sportswear, and the last one should be the uniform of our main sport followed by the Q and A. And before the coronation, we'll be wearing our best gowns.
My mother got me a pretty pink one! When she learned that I'd join a pageant, I couldn't remember how many times she squealed over the phone because of too much excitement. She even wanted to go here and support me, but they were abroad for some important matters so they won't make it.
It's okay, though. I have my friends and classmates here to support me, and I know they're cheering for me as well even away.
"So coool! Let's give them a round of applause! Our fifteen beautiful candidates! Here they are!"
Mira-san mouthed "Do your best!" before I walked up the stage together with other girls. Loud and a very huge crowd greeted us, as well as blinding flashes of cameras. Despite my heart beating louder than the whole stadium, I tried to smile and walk with confidence.
This is harder than I thought!
"Whooo!!!! Go, Luceeee!!!"
I felt my blood rose up and gathered to my cheeks when I heard Natsu's voice. He was sitting right in front of the stage with our friends. My eyes widened when I spotted the three kids and Wendy sitting next to him, waving their hands.
But what really shocked me was the sight of Zeref Dragneel, running his hands over his face because of embarrassment to Natsu who kept on shouting my name. Geez, he's cute, but please someone stop him.
"Go, Luceee!!! I know you'll win for meee!!!"
He's super supportive...and a bit ahead of himself.
I shook my head as I sighed in relief. Somehow, I managed to calm my nerves down. When I reached the middle, I made a pose, making the crowd go much wilder. Of course, the number of Fairies dominated the audience as it was our territory.
Although it was kinda unfair because I'm the only representative of our school, while the others have two or three!!
I turned around and walked towards the right side of the stage. The girl from Lamia Scale who called me ugly ealier smirked at me as I stood next to her. Damn, I can't really forget that!
