The Domain Ceramony

It was the day they had been waiting for. Elisha dressed in her nicest outfit and then decided it wasn't nice enough. Finally, Jessie took pity on her and told her her dress would change to fit her domains. Then, she filled out a form, stating what she would like to do. She filled in become a goddess. Royoko decided to become a lawyer. When asked what kind, Elisha and Royoko decided she would do well as a lawyer for the wilderness and wild animals.

They stood in line. Lia became a supermodel and got immortality and a place at the top modeling agency. All the group of friends signed their excitement. She would come back, of course, to get the hang of it. Izzie became a lawyer of civil rights. Bella would join Royoko as a lawyer for wilderness and wild animals. Illa and Mellis will become superheroine partners, as Instant, with the power of slowing other's time so it looked like she had super speed, and Chat Mew War, since her mom was a lion/ goddess of war. Finally, it was time for Elisha to receive her domains.

"Lady Elisha," called Anihon, headmistress and daughter of Athena. "Please come forward."

Elisha walked forward and bowed her head. "Madam. I exceed your help, and thank thee for your time."

Anihon nodded and said: "I give the daughter of Eris the title of Lady Elisha, the Goddess of Writing, Adventure, and Survival. Congratulations." Elisha looked over the crowd and waved. Then, she gained a new outfit and a notebook and pen. She also got a backpack. Her outfit was simpler. She had a simple white chiton made of linen and a lovely purse. Her dress had terms in greek and the general language scrawled all over them. She had a feeling that she could make that sort of thing happen with a flick of her pen. She knew that her pen and notebook were her symbols and could magically appear in her hand. She loved it.

"Thank you." she saw Heather in the crowd. She waved again. "I would like to admit I did not know I would get the domain of writing. My best friend Heather was sure I would, but I thought my good friends, Ally or Alex would get it. I thank Heather, for believing in me. And Royoko. Without her, I may not have survived and I may not have had any of these domains. Thank you."

Elisha walked off stage with a new ethereal glow bathed over her. As they got through the rest of the people, Elisha discovered that Ally and Alex were becoming lawyers. Well, that explains it. she thought drily. It wasn't talent but an opening. Whatevs. They'll do amazing. After all, they were in the democracy club. The gods stood and cheered. Everyone was happy for the new kids turned professionals. The teachers were sniffling. They knew they were coming back next year but it hurt so much not being able to continue making them so small and fun to take care of. Well. They weren't kids anymore. They were deities and other professionals. It was strange for parents, who had taken care of them all their lives and strange for teachers, who had helped with school work and essays. It was strange, like losing a friend you've known your whole life.

After the ceremony, they left to go pack. There wasn't much. Most had already packed. They walked up to the courtyard and chatted. All the girls agreed to work on their performance of the general language, but never forget their special language. They even spoke that way.

'I don't know. I love the general language and it's easier.'

'But our sign language is a combo of all of us. We worked together on it.'

'How about, until we are completely and totally fluent in the general language, we use sign.'

'Okay.'

Slowly, one by one, sometimes more, kids got picked up. Soon, it was only Elisha in the courtyard. She was messing with her stuff when she heard the honk of her mother's car. She walked over slowly and, just outside the gate, she kissed her hand and pressed her hand to the stone walls. As she drove away to a coming home party with Heather, she starred as the large looming building in the distance slowly shrank to the size of a human school, then a mansion, then a house, then a tree, and finally, to the size of a pea. Elisha smiled. "Goodbye, for now, see you next year." Then they turned a corner and Elisha could no longer see her school. She turned back, turned up the radio, and got comfy in her seat.
