WARNING: THIS GETS DARK LATER

Clem smiles and nods her head.

Clem: Well I'll let you get some rest...nerd.

She says with a warm hearted smile.

I scoff

You: Yea, yea, whatever.

There's a bit of an awkward silence for a couple seconds until Clem breaks it.

Clem: Well, I think I'm gonna go to sleep as well.

You: Do you need help?

Clem: No, I'm fine, I sleep next door with AJ.

You: That's two doors you have to go through.

Clem: And?

You: Let me help you.

Clem sighs in annoyance, but with a smile on her face.

Clem: Fine...

You: Thank you.

I say as I get up to open the door for her.

Clem hobbles past me.

Clem: ....Nerd...

She whispers.

I roll my eyes playfully.

You: You're just not gonna let that go, aren't you?

Clem giggles a bit as we go to the door.

Clem: Nope.

I sigh and open the door to her room.

You: Whatever, get some sleep. I'll probably think of something to make fun of you for.

Clem giggles again.

Clem: Alright, have fun with that, dork.

I shake my head.

You: Night Clem.

Clem: Night Y/N.

I shut the door to her room and go into my room and shut the door behind me.

Now I'm experiencing something... different.

Silence...something I haven't experienced in awhile. A notorious feeling from the wastlands, as I like to call it. It makes me anxious, but I try to calm myself down using my breathing technique.

You: Okay....okay...you're alright...you're fine.

I walk and sit at the edge of the bed and take off my shoes. I've never taken off my shoes in so many years, so this is just weird.

I lay down on the bed and pull the blanket half way to my waist.

I use my breathing technique and shut my eyes.

I wake up to the sound of muffled screaming from outside the house. Startled, I get up and open the door out of my room. I start to see Mom and Dad in the living room, watching the news.

You: Mom?

They both look at me down the hallway.

Mom: Hey sweetie, go to your room, I'll talk to you in a bit.

You: But I heard yelling from Nana's house, is Nana okay?

Mom looks a little surprised and looks at Dad.

Dad: She's probably fine bud.

You: But-but we should check on her!

Mom: I know sweetie but you need some sleep. People are...being crazy right now and I don't want you getting hurt.
