//Third person POV//

There was a boy, who was dressed in a grey hoodie and black ripped jeans, standing on the rocks in front of the water.

Rantaro knew that around those rocks, waves would usually crash and soak any people who were trying to take selfies or something, and they never got hurt, so it was fine.

He knew he was too far away to warn the boy about the waves, and he didn't feel like shouting. So he decided to just stand there and watch. Soon enough, a wave was about to hit the dark-haired boy. Rantaro felt bad, so he decided to walk down the steps to the beach to go help the soon-to-be drenched person.

But as he watched the water fall down on him, something was odd. The water seemed to go... right through his body. Rantaro stopped walking.

The boy's clothes were not wet at all, and his hair was completely dry. He turned around, and saw Rantaro standing there, who was confused at what he just saw.

//Shuichi POV//

It's no problem. He can't see me. But still, it feels like he's staring direcly at me.

I had walked to the beach for comfort, hoping to feel the water on my skin, but as the wave hit the rocky shore, the water went straight through my body.

Since I woke up at this beach, everything has been weird. Nothing can touch me, and I can hover over the ground a bit. But the thing is, I can't remember anything from before waking up on the shore.

I lift my feet off the ground, and start moving over to to the steps, where the boy is standing there. This is much easier than walking. I look at him, and it still seems like he's making eye contact with me.

I float right past the boy, a bit too close, and expect to just phase through him.

But when I try to, I bump into his shoulder.

"Huh..?" I say. The boy falls backwards onto the wooden steps, either out of shock or because of me running into him.

He's still looking at me. His eyes and hair are green, and he has a lot of piercings on his right ear.

"What's going on?" I say out loud.

"You're asking me??" he finally says.

He can see me. Oh my God someone can see me!!

"Y-y-you can see me?!" I shout, floating closer to him. He nods, still shocked.

I can't help but smile. The green-haired guy stands up, brushes himself off, and asks,

"Who are you? What the hell is going on?"

//Rantaro POV ( i know I switch POVs a lot lmao) //

I study this mysterious floating boy. He has yellow-grey eyes and dark blue hair.

"It's a long explanation, and there's not really that much I know, but how can you see me?" he questions.

"What do you mean? How are you flying?! Why did the water go right through you?" I respond.

"It's been like this since I woke up here!" the boy shouts back.

I take deep breaths until I calm down.

"Ok, please explain to me what is going on." I say.

"A-alright... All I can remember is waking up on this beach, and I have no recollection of anything before that. All I know is that my name is Shuichi Saihara, I'm 19 years old... my birthday is September 7th... and I don't know anything else about myself. I don't think anyone can see me, things go right through me, and I can float," he explains, looking a bit depressed.

"Are you... a ghost?" I ask.

"A-a ghost?"

"I mean... I've heard about this stuff in horror stories and such... do you remember uh..." my voice trails off.

"...Dying?" Shuichi asks, his face turning more pale than before.

"Yeah," I respond, feeling bad for the guy, "I'm Rantaro Amami, by the way."

Shuichi doesn't say anything, he just looks at the ground.

"Am I dead..?" he mumbles.

"Well, we can't know that for sure," I say, trying to comfort him.

He sighs.

"Why don't we walk back down to the shore and talk?" I say, wanting to get away from other people, since they'd probably think that I'm some weirdo talking to myself.

"S-sure," he says, and we walk towards the beach.
