It was supposed to rain that day, but surprisingly the sky was almost completely clear as the Bodt twins, Y/N and Marco, stood together, preparing themselves for whats to come. Of course they knew what they were getting into, joining the military. But after the fall of Shiganshina, the pair knew that it was either fight to the death or simply wait for it. At least they were in this together.
Marco and Y/N, were the definition of twins. The duo were always with each other, they were each others best friend. They were the loveable duo that everyone knew. They were as close as siblings could get, so once Marco set out on joining the Military Police it was almost confirmed that Y/N would be heading to His Majesties Guard as well. So far everything was going well, Y/N and Marco were near the top of the class, and everything seemed to be calm.
During their first week in the Cadet Corps, the Bodt twins became friends with a number of people, ranging from suicidal maniac Eren Jaeger, Saint-like Christa Lenz, child genius Armin Arlert, and 'Horse face' Jean Kirstien. Y/N had quickly became acquainted with most of the 104th, but she decided to settle with one friend group;
Annie Leonhardt, Reiner Braun, Bertholdt Hoover, Jean and her brother. The group just seemed to fit together, Annie being the brains, Reiner and Jean being the brawl, Bertholdt being the carer and the twins being the smiles. They really were 'best friends', as some would say.
There was one flaw in this perfect scene, though, the 104th cadet corps were soon to be leaving, to take back Trost, apparently. All Y/N knew was that this would be her first time seeing a Titan up close, never mind the fact that somewhere in the back of her mind she knew that many of her friends, fellow soldiers and superiors would die. If that was the risk for humanities freedom, then she was more than willing to take it.
So as she stared at the morning sky, hair slightly blowing in the wind, she couldn't help but wonder if she would make it out alive. The odds were 50/50, really. Either she would make it back or she would be a Titans next snack.
"What'cha thinking about?"
Her head turned, facing the source of the question.
"Nothing really, just if my guts is going to be on some random building whilst my heads inside a Titan. Y'know, the usual." The girl said with a small laugh.
Jean smiled, 'Think positive. If I knew any better, I'd say you were one of the strongest in the regiment. Of course, you're weak compared to me." The brunette mocked.
