Eren Jaeger stood, jaw wide and eyes even wider. He never expected Y/N to change her mind, never mind seem so happy about her decision. He wouldn't discourage it, but he certainly didn't see it coming. So, as the girl who he had once fought with over joining the Scouts stood next to him, laughing at something Armin had said, Eren wondered if Y/N was mentally stable, and if she was just how fit for even more combat she was.
"Earth to Eren?" Y/N laughed lightly, waving a hand in front of his face. "You with us?"
"Y-Yeah! Just thinking, that's all." The brunette stuttered, turning to face Y/N.
She giggled lightly, hitting Eren's shoulder playfully. "I'm only joking. But hey, are you ok? You seem like you're in another world."
Eren shook his head, smirking down at the girl. "Wouldn't you like to know~" He teased.
"Oh come on! You know I didn't mean it like that! I'm just looking out for you, that's all!" Y/N said, a light pink dusting over her cheeks.
The brunette laughed a little, before draping his arm over Y/N's shoulder. "I know, I know. I'm ok, seriously. Thank you, though."
Y/N smiled before turning her head back to the stage momentarily, but then casting her eyes around the area. She was surprised to see how many people had stayed, honestly she was quite impressed with the courage of her classmates. Her smile grew wider, before disappearing completely at the sight of one individual.
"What's he doing here?" She muttered, causing Eren, Armin and Mikasa to follow her gaze.
They were as shocked as Y/N to see that Jean had stayed, and although he looked to be in a mental battle with himself, his feet remained where they were.
"So I guess he isn't joining the M.Ps then.." Armin said, looking away. "Oh well, at least there more people here."
Y/N sighed, sliding under from Eren's arm and making her way over to the Kirstien boy. Better to get it over and done with now, she thought. Make sure he knows what he is to me.
Jean's eyes widened slightly upon seeing the small girl coming his way. She hadn't spoken to him, or even came this close to him in almost a month. He knew why, of course, Jean blamed himself just as much as Y/N did.
"H-Hey, Y/N.." He said, nervous tones lacing themselves through his voice.
"I'll do the talking, yeah?" It was obviously a rhetorical question, but Jean nodded still.
