Chapter 4: The practice

At five in the morning before Sally got up Brad walked into the storage closet and grabbed some hurdles walked out into the field and placed them in various places for Sally and horse Thunderbolt to jump over, the field looked just like a horse race track. Brad started to make breakfast and waited for Sally to get up.

Sally woke up at nine thirty bright and early she was so excited to begin practicing. Sally rushed downstairs and she saw a plate of nice bacon and toast but Sally saw the plate and shook her head. She went to the draw and pulled out a breakfast bar, she slid off the wrapping paper and gobbled it up it was gone within minutes. Sally once she had finished the breakfast bar saw Thunderbolt standing tall in the back garden she stood waiting for brad to open the patio all while jumping up and down excitedly.

Brad unlocked the patio doors and Sally rushed outside towards Thunderbolt, Brad picks up Sally and plopped her on Thunderbolt he then went over to the field gate and opened it, Sally wiggled Thunderbolt's saddle and he turned round and entered the gate and into the field.

Once she rode into the field her eyes widened as she saw the obstacle course " you did this for me! You are the best " said Sally with a smile looking over at Brad, Brad looked at Sally and smiled and nodded giving a thumbs up to her.

Brad took out a stop watch and started the timer, Sally was at the starting point and Thunderbolt was kicking the ground making dust. Sally controlled ThunderBolt and he quickly sped off round the track.

Sally went round and round the track as fast as she could make Thunderbolt go, she could feel the wind in her hair as they were speeding fast. Just then they came to an obstacle, Thunderbolt jumped up in the air and Sally closed her eyes and gripped on to the horses Maine as they went round and round the course jumping over obstacles.

Once again Brad was impressed at how she controlled the horse.

Sally and Thunderbolt sped quickly past the finish line and Sally halted Thunderbolt Brad clapped proudly and smiled " two minutes fithteen seconds a new world record" smiled Brad stroking Thunderbolts fur.

Suddenly a text notification sound on Brads phone rang, he took the phone out of his pocket and saw the text from the race horse manager Damian it said he wanted to see what Sally and Thunderbolt can do in a trail race just to see how good they are, Brad smiled at his phone.

Brad looked up at Sally " Damian wants to see you in person he wants you to do a trail race against another contestant" Brad smiled looking up at Sally.

Sally smiled and her eyes widened this was her chance to show Damian how much potential Thunderbolt really has. Brad took Sally down from Thunderbolt and he led him to the container the farmer gave him and Thunderbolt walked up the ramp and Brad shut the lid tight.

Brad got in his car and backed up, the container hooked up to the car Sally opened the passenger side and sat next to Brad she was so excited.

They drove down the road to the horse race track and parked the car and Sally and Brad both saw that Damian was waiting for them by the double doors.

Brad and sally got out the car and Brad lowered the lid to the container Thunderbolt walked out tall and Majestic when Damian saw it he couldn't believe how beautiful Thunderbolt was " what a beauty" Damian smiled patting his shiny black fur.

" follow me and you can meet your opponent for the trail race" smiled Damian, Sally led the horse as she and Brad followed Damian to the track.

Inside the track Sally saw a boy that looked twenty one standing against a tall brown horse Sally aligned Thunderbolt up with the tall brown horse and the boy walked up to her and bread " i am William Pollyworth" he held out his hand to Sally and she reached over and shook it, he had a firm grip Sally remembered that name from the story Brad told her " i heard your dad won the platinum trophy back in the day" Sally smirked
