Joseph | Not Meant To Be

Suzi Q this. Suzi Q that! That was all you can ever hear about when Joseph arrived to the mansion. You had a crush on the spunky brunette, but he didn't even once look your way.

You knew alot more about him than Suzi Q did. All she ever did was stand there looking all....pretty. She had gorgeous blonde hair that shone brightly, alluring blue eyes that hold care and wonder, soft snow skin that can beat the clouds looks, and a body that can swoon any man, like a goddess. She was nice, kind, soft and innocent. Everything a man would want in a partner. While you....you were the opposite. You had (h/c) hair that was dull. Dull (e/c) eyes that hold only pain and a fake want for adventure. Your (s/c) skin was soft, but your hands. They were rough, nearly dry like a desert. Your body was perfect to you, but no man would look its way. You weren't innocent, you've seen and gone through hell and back, you care but still held up a wall, you are kind, but lack the empathy to truly reach out.

Sighing, you slid down the wall, as you held onto the broom. Leaning your head back, you closed your eyes, as you relinquished the quiet peace. No one was in the mansion. Only you. All...alone.

Feeling hot tears prick the corner of your eyes, you held them back, as you slowly lifted yourself up. Holding yourself up, you leaned your forehead on the wall, taking a deep breath. Pushing yourself up, you gave yourself false motivation.

"Come on, Y/n! You can do it! You can get this mansion cleaned," looking around, you tightly held the broom,"Alone.."

You frowned for a second, before you replaced it with a smile. Shaking your body, you continued to clean the mansion. Whole mansion. Alone.

Wiping your sweat with the piece of cloth on your skirt, you smiled happily. Looking up at the whole mansion from the front entrance, you admired your hard work. Picking up your broom and dust pan, you went to put them away. Turning to your room, you closed the door, as you walked towards your bathroom. Stripping your clothes, you turned on the bath. Filling it with bubbles, you watched as it grew. Once fully filled, you stepped in the warm water.

Leaning your head back, you sighed deeply, closing your eyes.

Flashback

"Y/n, Suzi Q. We have a new guest, so please help me pick an outfit." Lisa Lisa asked.

Both nodding, you two walked towards her closet. Pulling out clothes, you both pouted, and talked amongst each other. Settling on a simple black dress and red scarf, you carried the scarf as Suzi Q held the dress.

"Miss Lisa Lisa, here are your clothes for the day." You both said in unison, giggling after.

Once she dressed, she left her room, as did Suzi Q. You offered to stay behind and clean up. Once done, you walked out, closing the door softly. Turning around, you walked down the halls, taking a turn, before you bumped into a hard wall. Or so you thought.

Rubbing your cheek, you heard a masculine voice,"Sorry, you okay?"

Looking up, your breath was caught in your throat. He was truly handsome. Blue eyes, brown spiked hair and a well built body.

"Miss?"

Shaking your head, you quickly stood up,"Sorry!"

He chuckled,"No no, it's my fault. I got lost, haha."

Blushing, you giggled,"Well, I can direct you back to where you wanted to go? If you like."

Taking your offer, you guided him back towards the main room. Entering, you noticed Lisa Lisa talking with Ceasar and Suzi Q.

Lifting a hand to speak to the male, your eyes went wide as he quickly dashed towards Suzi Q. Hand slowly falling to your side, you turned away.

"Y/n!"

Turning around, you see Joseph making his way toward you,"Evening Joseph! You looking for something?"

Once in front of you, he frowned like a child,"Do you know where Suzi Q is?"

Feeling your heart drop, you let out a laugh,"Well, she's usually with Li-"

"THANK YOU, Y/N!"

You didn't even finish, as he dashed down the hall towards Lisa Lisa's room.

"Y/n, what does Suzi Q like?"

You stopped dusting, as you tilted your head thinking,"Well she loves the color blue...OH! And fashion! Basically she will like anything!" You laughed to yourself.

Nodding, Joseph smiled,"Thanks Y/n! Your the bestest friend I can ask for!"

Laughing again, you waved goodbye, as he dashed off to buy Suzi Q presents for her birthday.

You watched as Joseph chased Suzi Q, happily. You watched Joseph kiss Suzi Q. You watched Joseph hold Suzi Q. You watched him dance with her. You watched him eat with her...sleep, laugh, walked...everything with her.

Present

Opening your eyes, you stared up at the ceiling. You stared blankly up, feeling a bit tear fall down your cheek. Your lips quivered as you tried to hold in your cries, but boy, it was hard. Choking on tears, you covered your mouth, as the white ceiling became blurry. Feeling more tears roll down, your body shook in despair, regret, and full of loneliness. Pulling your knees to your bare chest, your placed your head on your knees, as you kept crying those salty hot tears.

You wanted to scream, punch, kick, throw, or break something. ANYTHING. But you couldn't. You already did. You did it to yourself. You broke yourself. Hurt yourself. Lied to yourself. Gave yourself false hope, false EVERYTHING. You gave yourself hope that you could possibly be the one that Joseph holds. The one he kisses, laughed, slept, ate, walked and talked with. His everything.

Feeling no more tears, you lifted your head up, chin on your knees. You stared forward, as you felt numb. You felt as if nothing can break you now.

Sighing, you hugged yourself tighter, burying your face in your arms,"I guess it wasn't meant to be."

Everything was quiet, again.

You had lost everything.

Lost.

Everyone.

It's cold..

Too.

Cold.

And.

Quiet.
