Jax is adjusting to having Penelope as a mate and loses control when someone gets a bit too close to her

Jax POV
I have been at the Salvatore School for about a week now and I'm happy that I came here I got to meet my beautiful mate Penelope. Since I got here we have been on a few dates and I usually walk her to her classes before going to mine in order for me to be ok with leaving her she has to wear my jackets of hoodies to keep my wolf in control so I give her mine before leaving her until lunch.
I'm walking to her dorm to pick her up for the day and I reach her room and knock.
Penelope: I'm coming
The door opens and I see my penny.
Jax: Hi beautiful are you ready to go
Penelope: Yes I am now give me your hoodie.
She held her hand out as I slipped it over my head and handed it to her I held her books while she slipped it over her head it looked so cute on her considering it was too big on her and reached her knees
Penelope: Stop staring
Jax: I can't help it penny you look adorable
Penelope: shut it puppy now walk me to class before I find your replacement
I let out a low growl not liking the thought of someone else with her
Penelope: Whoa I'm kidding puppy no one could ever replace you
She got up on her tippy toes and pulled me down to give me a kiss on the cheek effectively calming me down she grabbed my hand and started pulling me down the hall to her first class of the day
Penelope POV
I walked down the hall with Jax to my first class of the day. I'm so happy I met her but I wish she wasn't so afraid to show me more affection like she might lose control. I was so preoccupied with my thoughts I didn't notice we reached my class.
Jax: Pen are you ok
Penelope: Yeah I'm fine you're coming to get me for lunch right
Jax: Yes I am
Penelope: Ok then bye puppy
Jax: Bye Penny
She leaned down and gave me a kiss on the cheek before leaving for her class. I walked in and sat down next to my friends and waited for class to start since we still had a few minutes.
Ginny: So Penelope what's going on with you and Jax
Amanda: Yeah we all know you are her mate so how is it
Penelope: Honestly I'm happy she's really nice and sweet but I wish she would stake her claim on me already and stop treating me like I'm fragile don't get me wrong I love the hand holding and the compliments but she won't hug me cause she scared that she will give into her wolf if my scent overwhelms her
