I think it's been a couple hours since my horrific accident on the street. I just woke up. I attempted to sit up but I winced in pain. It felt like little needles were being stabbed into my back. I laid back down frightened and in pain. I held my hands up. Of course they were scarred and my arms were covered with bruises. I lifted my bed sheets and I saw all the tubes running in and out of my legs. I looked at my toes and counted them to pass this painful time. One... two...three...four....five....six...seven.....eight.....NINE! One of my toes is gone! It was my little toe on my right foot. I heard the door click open and in came my mother.
" Are you okay sweetheart?" She hesitantly asked holding my hand.
" Do you think I'm okay? I have one toe missing." I angrily replied.
" Its going to be okay. You'll be alright." I could already see the tears streaming down her face. She normally doesn't cry like this.
" Mom. I tried to call you after school but you didn't answer. Why?" I asked even though it was probably unimportant.
" Oh. Umm, your father is very ill. He is in the hospital with cancer." My heart dropped down into my stomach. I tried to scream but all that came out was a little croak. I didn't fight back the tears this time. I let them stream down my now scarred face.
" How come you didn't tell me!?" I screamed at her like a lunatic. I thrashed my arms and kicked my feet and tried to reach her until the doctor came. He ran to me and injected some kind os liquid that made me knock out. My eyes blacked out and I fell asleep.
The next day
My vision finally came back and I found myself alone again in the hospital. Thank goodness. I dreaded for some alone time. I could finally get up from my bed. So, I searched for my note pad that was in my bag. Where is it!? That was not only my drawing book but also my diary!!! I have to find it! It had all my deepest darkest secrets in there!
