What a beautiful day for flying. This sky was clear and bright, shining with hope and love. This was meant to be, she knew it in her heart of hearts. Her mind was once clouded with doubt and fear, but Can came and recused her, renewing her faith in that kind of love that only comes along once in a lifetime. She had learned so much about herself, what was right in her life and what she had done wrong. He completed her in every way. It was time to go, live her life with him, her albatross.
The excitement of going home was great as they boarded the plane. Can had a seat across the aisle and three rows behind her. He shamelessly tried to get her to take a seat on his lap as they boarded, with everyone looking at them. She shyly, had twisted away from his grip, smiling at him demurely, she found her seat. Sitting in the aisle seat, she had the perfect angle to look back and check out that exquisite creature she was going home with...unfortunately, so was every other woman on the plane. It made her smile, as she felt the heat from his eyes penetrate straight through the seat and deep inside her, going right to the spot where all the butterflies came from...She knew he was staring at her. This was going to be a long flight!!.
As soon as the "unfasten your seatbelt " sign came on and they were free to move about on the plane, there he was. He stood, towering over her, sending a wave of breathlessness over her. When the flight attendant approached, asking him to return to his seat and not block the aisle, he did what Can Divit did best, he charmed. She sat and marveled at the way he persuaded the attendant, against her better judgement of course, to allow him to switch seats with the lovely lady sitting next to Sanem. The exchange was quite comical, as both the attendant and the lady sitting next to Sanem, stuttered and fumbled about, with the look from him that could convince anyone of anything. And that smile, well, needless to say, in a matter of moments Sanem had Can as a new seating partner. She had felt sorry for the women, seeing how visibly flustered they both were.
He settled down next to her, very proud of the exchange that had just happened. She cut her eyes his way, poured out her lips saying, " That was horribly wrong Mr. Divit, those women will probably never be the same. He smiled that half smile, and winked. She had to laugh, he was so cute....He gathered her hand in his, bringing his lips to her hand he kissed her skin, feeling the softness and along with the smell of her, it soothed him like nothing else. They snuggled up together for the flight home and the reunion with her parents. The surprise of her coming home might be to much for them to handle. They hadn't even told Leila and Emre they were coming home together, so it would be a joyous day all around.
At the end of the 3 hour flight, Can and her both, gathered their bags and exited the plane. The looks were endless, she could the feel the gaze of envy that came from the disappointed women that were on the plane. She proudly stood her ground, choosing not to make eye contact with any one person. The way he caressed her shoulder, was validation enough for anyone to see, " He was hers." He hailed a taxi to take them to her parents first and then, he hoped they would allow him to take her to his house for some alone time. Of course Leila and Emre would be there but anything would be better than nothing.
The ride to her old neighborhood had taken almost an hour due to traffic. This time of day, her mom would be fully engrossed in cooking dinner for her beloved husband. Her mother had a special spot in her heart for Can, even with the trouble that lived within them, she thought of him as a good and decent man. And now, the fact that he brought her youngest daughter home to them, would definitely rank him high on her list. They finally arrived in front of her house, it had been months since she had last been there. Remembering the day she left there, a broken and heartsick girl, longing for a love that was gone, and determined to forgive herself. Her life had taken on a change that she respected and welcomed, and finding that love that defined it, made her stronger than ever.
He grabbed their bags from the taxi as she rang the bell. Mevkibe hurried to the door, wondering who could be ringing the bell at this time of day. She swing the door open and stared into the face of her beautiful daughter. Sanem smiled, the sight of her mother brought the tears that had been waiting for this moment. Her mom, speechless and stunned, threw her hands over her face and squealed. They embraced, crying and hugging, and with squeals of joy that brought most of the neighbors out to see what was going on. Especially Milihat, the neighbor and her moms best friend. She was overjoyed to Sanem and Can, Sanem's absence had been a definite void in the neighborhood. Seeing her return, and with Can too, would bring happiness to the Aydin family.
Mevkibe ushered the couple in, giving Can a long and thankful hug. Knowing his actions had brought Sanem home. He carried in her bags, leaving his bag at the door. The excitement had reached pandemonium, both Mevkibe and Milihat had Sanem surrounded, whisking her away to the living room. Can was smiling, happy he had been able to bring Sanem home and reunite the family. Again Mevkibe turned to Can, placing her hands on his face, kissing both cheeks with affection. With emotion she asked, " How did you find her son. " Who told you where she was. " Can replied, " She found me, Aunt Mevkibe, she saved me from myself." And for that I will forever grateful. " I love her more than you could know.
The news had made it's way to the small grocery store that was owned by the Aydin family. Her father rushed home, to see if the news was true. The bond between this father and daughter was that of a special kind, his love for her was deep and unconditional. He had a hard time excepting her decision to leave their home, but he had all the faith in the world that she was doing what she had to do. Their reunion brought many more tears of joy, the family was whole again.
Nihat turned to Can, his look of relief and appreciation was excepted by Can and returned with gratitude. He loved that family and hoped to become to become a part of their family soon.
His life was the fullest it had ever been.......
