The orange flames of the campfire grew bigger and taller as he approached the amphitheatre. It was dark but small lights, almost like tiny glowing stars surrounded the place. Nico noticed they were fairy lights.

'What is he up to?' Nico questioned in his head.

For the final time, Nico entered his destination with no clue what he was going to find. He walked closer to the campfire and saw by the flames, not close enough to set on fire but close enough to feel its warmth, a picnic blanket was set out with all of Nico's favourite foods: mostly McDonalds.

He stood, simply staring at the picnic and a minute smile grew on his face. He quickly placed his near empty cup onto the blanket and looked around. Out of the shadows behind the fire, a silhouette appeared and came closer to him. Whoever it was obviously was trying to be scary but all Nico did was laugh.

"Will!" he shouted after calming down, "You're terrible at trying to hide, come out!"

The shadow let out a small laugh before walking closer to the dark haired demigod. Blond hair first, then orange shirt and blue jean shorts, emerged from the shadows. The flames made his hair look like gold; Nico had to admit that Will was good looking.

"You caught me. I guess I'm not the greatest at hiding." he laughed again with a small blush.

"Well I am the son of Hades, I control the shadows." he smirked back.

"I'll remember that for next time."

"Next time?" Nico questioned.

"Mhm, next time. So, will you join me?" he asked shyly.

"Of course. After all, you put a lot of effort into that whole little excursion." he smiled.

For a moment Will forgot how to breathe. Nico was so handsome in the firelight, his skin gleamed like pale pearls. His obsidian eyes beautifully reflected the amber flames and made small fires in his eyes.

"Will?" asked Nico waving his hand in front of Will's face.

"You're gorgeous." Will blurted out.

"Oh, Th-thank you." Nico stammered and rubbed the back of his neck and looked away.

They both say down and Nico looked once more at all of the food around them: burgers, fries, an assortment of drinks, ice creams, fruits. You name it and it was there.

"I heard Jason talking about your love of McDonalds and, well, with the help of the Stoll brothers I managed to get a whole load of it here for you." he confessed.

"Thanks. You've thought hard about this haven't you?"

"Of course! You asked me to prove how much I love you and I'm going to pull out all of the stops for you to see how much you mean to me. Nico," he was speaking quite quickly and sincerely now, "ever since I laid eyes on you years ago I knew you were the one for me. You've always stood out to me even when you think you blend in. You are the bravest and most selfless person I've ever met and I want to show you with everything I've got how special you are. You've been through so much yet you are still strong and kind to everyone who meets you. I love you Nico, truly, and I don't think I can imagine life without you... Nico, will you go out with me?"

There it was. The question Will had been dying to ask for weeks. As he looked over to Nico, he was shocked to see his eyes held a few tears. The truth was Nico had never heard such honest and loving words from somebody about himself and he could feel the love radiating from Will. He looked into Will's eyes and saw he was being truthful and honest and his heart melted.

In a second he was hugging Will and buried his head into the blond demigod's shoulder.

"Yes." he whispered. "Of course I will."
